Welcome to the 1st world
According to Singh, he is out over $80,000 from having to pay the mortgage and utilities on the property, as well as legal fees. "I’m suffering while he's enjoying all the amenities.”
“I lost my job in the summer,” he told Hoffman. “Juggling my own mortgage and paying double mortgage for the tenant's house has become a considerable burden.”
Singh noted, “I work two jobs to support my family and the tenant's family.”
“While my tenant enjoys a relaxed lifestyle, buys new cars, and celebrates [with] barbecues, I continue to struggle to pay my bills and double mortgages. Our tax dollars not only provide free legal support to my tenant but also pay his rent while he does little to contribute and seemingly manipulates the system.”

Woodnothire/10.
Would prefer to just pay some romper stomper degenerates to thrash them all over the place for the better part of 5 minutes, rather than some Home Alone ph@ggot waging a war of attrition that could last months and leave my home smelling like roadkill.Pittsburgh Penguins 5x Stanley Cup Champions

so much for landchads. landchad was about to get arrested for tresspassing on his own property.
cops have an average IQ of 92. They cant understand things like deeds and all that. so it takes an action of the court for evictions which as a slow ineffective government agency, takes them 6 months to process. All cops know is, guy in house = presumed owner, guy outside = presumed trespasser.🌺 Lauren Brooks Kelly (snailsrus) - Jul 25, 1991 – Jan 29, 2022

Imagine just showing up with "the deed" would be enough for the cops to perform an on the spot eviction. Do you know what would happen then? you would be sitting in your own house as landchad eating dinner on a wednesday and a 92 IQ cop knocks on your door telling you to exit your own house because some future squatter made a deed on photoshop that says youre in his house.
what they really need is a digital system that is for properties. It cant be that hard, they do it for cars, every cop can tell if a car is registered, whom its registered to, if its been reported stolen ect. that doesnt take 6 months to get your car reported stolen. I dont see why they cant solve the eviction problem the same way as cars. the low IQ cops just need an accurate computer system to tell them what to do.🌺 Lauren Brooks Kelly (snailsrus) - Jul 25, 1991 – Jan 29, 2022

cliffs:
- kim, repeat offender known by the local real estate agents, moves in summer 2022, pays first month and security deposit
- hasnt paid any rent since first month in 2022. has gotten 2 new cars since then.
- they try to start evicting him, "King County Bar Association's Housing Justice Project (HJP), which offers free legal help to low-income renters facing eviction" paid off like a year of back rent for him, which reset his eviction clock.
- his latest payment was now May 2023
- he gets a free lawyer
- got approved restraining order on the home owner due to "harassment" from the weekend protest
- next court date is march 28th, so absolutely nothing happens in the next 10 days except his free rent continues.
- landchad has to pay all utilities as well so Kim gets free electricity too, since it would be inhumane or some chit to cut it off
- landchad out $80k he will never see again
- state law says that evictions are supposed to be processed in 30 days but its almost been 2 years now.🌺 Lauren Brooks Kelly (snailsrus) - Jul 25, 1991 – Jan 29, 2022

These people are pros at it, and even when he eventually gets kicked out he'll find another place to squat in. According to the article he actually has a lease and is just exploiting every possible loophole to stay in the property without paying. Guy even managed to find a bleeding heart organization to pay his back rent.
Good luck to the landlord. This is part of the risk you should assume if you want investment properties, although this is an extreme example.

He HAD a lease but it expired a year ago.
The court systems treat it like every landlord is mega rich or something when they have a mortgage that is only a few hundred bucks under a months rent, its ridiculous. I think places like black rock lobby to make these rules to push private small time owners out of the game and once they have complete market control they will lobby to change the rules again to benefit the home owners once they own most homes.
its insane, they force the landlord to pay all utility bills because it would be "inhumane" to cut off his electric when he doesnt pay any bills.🌺 Lauren Brooks Kelly (snailsrus) - Jul 25, 1991 – Jan 29, 2022

If he's in Canada, leases automatically go month to month after it "expires" so the lease is still valid. And you can't even evict people during winter months here. It's almost insane to be a landlord with the potential risk involved.
Had a client who rented a house to a small family. They split up, the guy stayed and slowly went insane, absolutely wrecking the place. Cost her lawyers fees and a year of time getting him out of the place, then she finally got inside and had to fully gut it because he'd been living with mold, destroyed a bunch of stuff, etc. No way you're ever getting that money back, and he was an ideal tenant until things went south.

I saw here in Florida a bill recently pasted by state law makers gives land lords more rights in booting squatters. I figure the law was passed now due to the open border. With millions of illegals coming into the country and Biden not stopping or deporting them, some have been sounding the alarm that if the illegals discover some blue states squatter laws, many could lose their homes to them.
Squatters would get booted immediately under bill lawmakers in this state unanimously passed

What gets me is when people cheer this one and feel it's sticking it to the man. In reality, things like squatters rights and laws making it hard for landlords to get rid of deadbeat tenants is why there are shortages of places to rent driving up the price. What is wrong with our society where everyone has so much empathy for deadbeats and criminals?
It's not like the landlord had to buy the property and it's not like they can't sell it. When that investment starts to become unprofitable or a burden they will dump it and get another investment that does have return. I know of people who had rental property and have sold it because during the eviction moratorium that Biden kept extending they they decided they can't afford to go through that again and the government proved they would do that.

This is why we're the goat state https://www.news4jax.com/news/local/...positive-hope/
Florida lawmakers unanimously pass bill to combat squatting; giving property owners ‘positive hope’
The bill allows law enforcement to **immediately** remove squatters who do not have a lease authorized by the property owner. It also adds criminal penalties, including designating intentionally presenting a fraudulent lease as a misdemeanor and making it a felony to intentionally sell or lease someone else’s property or intentionally cause more than $1,000 in property damage while squatting or trespassing.

This 100%
The cops don't know or do chit. I had legal possession of one of my properties and the former tenant drove by as I was cleaning out the place, called the cops and said I hit him.
Cops came ready to arrest me for breaking and entering and battery. Luckily the chick next door said there was no contact (which there wasn't) and my attorney answered his phone and explained to the cops.
Since then, it was a wake up call and I been selling my properties and going into dividend stocks. No liabilities, no pesky tenants, no overpriced insurance, no repairs, no bullchit and no realtors. Just me and my brokerage account.NEVER TIPS CREW

Yes sir what needs to happen.
I know where I live it's like that in that to get utilities turned on you have to prove you either have a deed, bill of sale, or a lease.
Once again, why do some, even on this forum have so much empathy for those who don't want to be adults? I guess they admire them for "standing up for themselves" or they think they are so destitute they have to resort to doing this. Really amazes me how people claim this "woe is me" sob story about how they are poor and unfortunate yet they never do anything to change it.

Squatters like the one in the video will have the effect of reducing prices, not increasing them. Because squatters make landlording a less profitable activity, so a property is worth less money compared to a world without the squatters. Fewer investors bidding up properties = lower house prices
