Fiction book recommendations?

I would generally read textbooks in my free time (biochem, physiology, anatomy, exercise physiology, physics, maths and economics). Recently I've decided I might try read some fiction books. I haven't read anything fiction based since I was a child. Perhaps some of you low IQ brahs who read fiction all the time could recommend sometbing?

Vikings, Roman or mediaeval would appeal to me.

You may enjoy Mary Stewart's Arthurian series. It's a spin-off of the Arthurian legend written from Merlin's perspective, starting when he's young and continuing as he becomes a famous magician. The books are medieval fantasy rather than typical historical fiction, but they're well written:

Robert Harris - Lustrum, Imperium, Dictator

Historical fiction, going through Ciceros career through the eyes of his slave, Tiro, including the civil war etc.

Very historically accurate too.

Robert Graves - I Claudius

Historical fiction, somewhat a classic now of Claudiuses reign written from his perspective.

I'm about to start reading the book Semi-Tough (later made into a movie by the same name). I was listening to an interview with Quentin Tarantino and he said it was among the most obscene, offensive and raunchy books he''s ever read, and judging by the preview of the first couple pages on amazon, I can see why.

They are pretty good fantasy novels. The first one is two heist books and third book is a war book. The tainted cup is a murder mystery in a biopunk setting.
