I recognize that I am entitled to nothing and should be grateful for everything. I feel blessed that I am a healthy, relatively young man living in America. However, there is an empty pit in my soul and much of it has to do with being stripped of all purpose and fulfillment, trapped in this 9-5 cycle of wage slavery, running on the hamster wheel and getting nowhere without the vision to even see a path in front of me.
If I am ever blessed with the chance to escape the matrix and somehow acquire the means to live outside of this dead end officel environment, I PROMISE I will not squander that privilege. I will grab this world by the balls with a renewed sense of urgency, proceeding forward for the betterment of my family and community, leaving a positive legacy behind. Every day will be a mission. Every minute will be devotion. I will never let it go to waste.
I just need the chance.

You are wrong. My starting position wasn't one that was paid $50k a year. I wish. My start was in a shack in a third world country. Despite that you won't find a single post or thread I've made crying about my life, you won't find a single post about how I want to do this or that but haven't done it. OP won the fuking lottery by being born in the US even with his janitor father. My father has no education and can't speak English.
OP will continue to make threads like this and never actually make the moves necessary to become successful because complaining is easy, putting in the work isn't.

I’m not blaming God, you dumb phuck. I’m thanking Him and making a commitment to do better by myself.
Go post another 7 paragraph nihilistic diatribe and GTFO of my thread, you leprechaun looking cocksucker.
While technically true, the consequence of such an act would be losing everything I have worked for thus far. Without a savings to fall back on, I am stuck. The need for a steady income has to take precedence over searching for a purpose. For now.
But I realize I need to be more proactive about finding those opportunities. Eventually they will come. It will be my responsibility to seize the moment when they do.
I appreciate the recognition brother. I believe you’re correct. My mom was also a waitress at Denny’s when she was my age, so overall I am proud of achieving some sense of upward mobility. I just feel like I’m capable of more and get frustrated AF being mediocre without a clear answer as to where to go from here.Last edited by GuineaDago585; 03-18-2024 at 07:18 AM.

OP you want to be a tradie so why haven't you gotten a job as a plumbers or electricians helper or something? Lots of companies hiring and need help. They'll probably start you off at $20 an hour. You'll have to get a roommate since you won't be making as much, but it's doable. Have you even attempted to look for another job?

I have considered going the tradie route. My friend is in the sheet metal union and could get me in tomorrow if I gave him the word. The problem goes back to money. Their apprentices start off at $16 per hour (srs) and are required to undergo a 5 year apprenticeship before graduating as mechanics. At that point they earn $38 per hour. My issue is I need A LOT of money (closer to that mechanic wage) immediately. It just seems like starting over as a tradie is more suited for young brahs fresh out of high school. I understand 27 is “young” but in terms of hitting the reset button it’s not. I’ve been searching Indeed on the clock and most of the jobs I would qualify for lacking a degree are the same bullchit office work paying $45-55k/yr.
My answer might be to develop some skill and freelance. Not sure what tho.

That's not how any of this works. If you require money fast, sell your ass. Otherwise put in the work, take the pay cut today for a better life tomorrow. I did it in 2015 and made $27k that year. 9 years later I'm making close to what I made that year, per month today.

Opportunities and risk often go hand-in-hand. Most people unknowingly miss opportunities because the consequences of failure are too dire. You don’t want to lose what you have. It’s a common struggle. In the end though, it is a decision that you have to make for yourself. What are you willing to give up for the possibility of a way out?
I've been seeing the past in one eye and the present in the other. So, I thought I could only see patches of reality, never the whole picture. I felt like I was watching a dream I could never wake up from. Before I knew it, the dream was over.

This was me in 2021. I racked up 60k in crypto and quit my job immediately. I walked out
I tried starting my own business. Things unfortunately went sideways and I lost everything.
But that 1 year of freedom was truly amazing.
I'm starting all over again. Up 4k in profits so far. Got a long way to go but it's doable
