Correct me if I'm wrong. But the amazing MRNA vaxxes (thanks Trump!) were 92%+ effective after two jabs of acquiring covid. The same protection provided by most vaccines.

So if everyone had gotten two jabs and the virus had not mutated, the jabs would have been able to statistically stomp out covid.

The virus mutating and anti-vaxxers gave the virus the breeding ground necessary to spread.

Only for a limited time, I presume while you're flush with the antibodies they create, if you get it those antibodies help you recover quicker. Less chance of death, hospitalization, etc, recover quicker and such.
