Anyone seen Spaceman on netflix? (Adam sandler flick)

I've never even heard of it until this thread. Love space movies and Adam is a decent actor who usually works with at least mediocre films, so was interested.



But... a spider?

it wasnt bad. Adam has been in a few better movies in his later age. I am still confused with the spider. did he manifest it? He would have frozen out there in space instantly as well. and was that china at the end who saved him?

Well the spider came out his mouth and could somehow teleport.

I think he manifested the alien due to his isolation. he reflected on his own life and saw he had issued with his wife which made him think more. and saw that he was selfish

Blatant Interstellar rip off. Except totally boring with no special effects budget or emotional payoff.

Little jew yakub gets launched into space to investigate interstellar phenomenon. We get lots of hand wringing and side profiles of his enormous schnoz while he poops on the spaceship.

He gets to the event horizon and meets alien creature who teaches him about humanity. They talk about the wonderful tribes they are from, go past the event horizon, see lots of dradels and life flashing before eyes. Finally hanoosh turns into a bunch of parasites and drifts off into space while yakub drifts out of the event horizon and gets rescued then reunites with his family. Jews conquer space. The end.

I can't believe instead of ice worlds and gravity tidal waves and murderous matt damon for fill time, we got long slow shots of adam sandler taking a chit.

Like they couldn't fill time with anything in outerspace slightly more interesting than that?

Unless it was a hidden allegory for how crappy the rest of the movie was going to be.

I don't think Adam is suited for these roles, he's no Mathew McConaughey or Bruce Willis. He's hilarious in what he's good at and on stage.

That said, he really surprised me in "Click" but I think that was more the story than his acting.

I dont think he is really even funny. i mean a few movies which were him basically special. this movie wasnt an action movie or a tough guy movie

i was waiting to see if they would run into what ever it was that destroyed where the spider cam from but then realized that was somewhere far away.
