Nice houses.
One of the best blue flag beaches in the country.
Good nightlife.
Good road/rail connections to the rest of the country.
Local economy isn't completely reliant on tourism, so half the place doesn't shut down in the winter.

Brighton isn't too bad and has the advantage of being commutable to London (the trains take exactly 1 hour and run 24/7, as it's the Gatwick train).

The biggest problem is how politically left it is. It's only place in the UK to elect a green MP.
