Or will there always be Heyman, Bloodline or other window dressing involved to prop him up when he is an active wrestler? Could he succeed for the first time if tasked with carrying the water?

Will they ever have the courage to try Roman on his own again?

I think they're going to try it. After Roman loses the title, Rock will lay into him and start treating him basically the way he treated Jey and Jimmy after they lost their titles. Roman will eventually snap and we'll get Rock vs Roman at WM 41. Not sure how they go about that with Heyman though. Logically Heyman should stay with Roman. Rock is a shadow of what he used to be on the mic but he's still better than Roman, so Roman could use Heyman in that feud. But if Roman is going to be the face in that feud then Heyman doesn't really fit that.
Whatever happens, rumor is after dropping the title Roman will eventually shift into being a part time attraction face. He's already part timer at least from last year's WM to the present, but I expect him to show up more sparsely after he drops the title and after the Bloodline storyline diffuses. Things could change if he falls flat or if crowds don't react to him though. Personally I don't know if he'll pull off a face. He works far better as a heel.See Krackerjacked's sig

Roman is weird. He was allowed to go part time way younger than anyone else. He never made it as a face despite being forced on us. As a heel, he's not a monster. He's just a cheater. I don't think anyone will care about him once he drops that title.
People won't have fond nostalgia for Roman. They won't have respect for him as a guy who worked his butt off because he didn't.
Roman will be remembered like the Wladimir Klitschko of WWE. He'll have this long impressive title run on paper, but he's following a much greater champ (Lennox Lewis/John Cena). Like Wladimir, his matches are boring slow and formulaic.^^^()()GERMANIC CREW()()^^^

Reigns is very good on the mic now and much more confident. He will never be top tier on promos. He used to be terrible.
They are building up for the mega face turn.
I guess the most logical way is to have The Rock and the bloodline turn on him if he loses to Seth Rollins’ little gf, Cody, at WM.Last edited by ChunkBuster; 02-27-2024 at 07:28 PM.

I don't know about a mega face turn or anything like that. I think he's part time or gone after this. He's already got one foot out the door. You have money with Rock down the road, a Punk match, and I guess a Cody rematch for the title whenever that change happens.
He'll never be appreciated properly for this heel turn because the IWC is incapable of admitting a change of mind on a guy. A lot of the older fans made their mind up on Roman years ago and even as he successfully changed his entire character people won't admit they dig it.
IMO he nailed it as 'head of the table.' the whole bloodline story deserves a lot of props and he's at the forefront of it. it isn't a story without him being the failed babyface who turns heel and embraces the dark side. they never had the nerve to do this with Cena.
