The positive?
Spoiler!
The negative?
Prefacing this with Boderlands being a dead franchise anyways, I guess that leaves everything else.
Roland is now Kevin Hart, which says everything.
Lilith is now menopausal and the only "rare" anyone on set found was a way to make Kate Blanchett look like she's wearing clown makeup.
*No images that I've seen of the actual ex stripper (hooker?) in clown makeup.
Tannis is now a grandma.
Krieg, the literal psycho who yells about meat trains, is here because ?
Claptrap just sounds wrong, and I usually like Jack Black.
Tiny Tina is somehow worse than the game version that could already go from kind of endearing to nails on a chalkboard within the same sentence.
Where's Brick and Mordecai?
Where are the midgets?
Hell, where are the jacked up big guys?
All of this, and I don't think anyone could tell you when is this movie even supposed to take place if Roland is alive, Lilith is ready to retire, Brick and Mordecai aren't around, Tiny Tina is kind of older, Tannis is way older, and none of it even matters, just like this entire franchise after the second game.
For reference, this was the first game's intro (note the music that's actually fitting and good):
And the sequel:

Clap trap looks awesome but does sound odd lol
Movie doesn't really look great but doesn't look too bad either. I'm gunna watch it once it's streaming.
Tiny Tina kinda meh
Idk if Kevin hart is playing Roland and not just playing Kevin hart it could be ok
I'm glad they chose cate Blanchett instead of some random young up and coming actress, it would been one of like 3 young girls who suck anyways.
Idk I know it doesn't look great or even that accurate to borderlands but I still think it looks fun to watch.Sometimes I park in handicap spaces, while handicap people make handicap faces

And then one of them says it's piss, and the other one reminds them that duh, it's called Piss Wash for a reason!

This looks like Guardians of the Galaxy, minus everything that made it (the first) actually good and only with the most superfluous overblown comedy/Disney aspects of it turned up to 11.
All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

Movie looks like ass.
But with that said, Borderlands is a dead franchise? That's interesting. Every game was considered quite a success and I reckon BL4 will do very well too when it releases in the next year or two. The BL games in all have sold like 80+ million copies to date. That's about as successful as they come.Last edited by R3L3NTL3SS; 02-24-2024 at 05:22 PM.

They kept an incredibly solid fan base from 2009 when BL1 launched to 2019 when BL3 launched, but you think 5 years later their customer base is suddenly dead and in the grave or something? Your logic is so low IQ I don't think you deserve replies any longer on the subject.
Go sit and think about how dumb you are. The numbers don't lie.

BL3 has sold well over 15 million copies. It’s not as well as some of the other games did, but it’s clearly a VERY successful game.
If anyone can someone how land at “franchise dead” after said franchise has sold ~80 million games, you’ve gotta be retarded.
If BL4 doesn’t sell, then we can come to that conclusion. Until then, the franchises history has repeatedly shown over the last 15 years that there are still many many millions of people who want to play new BL games.
Edit: To put some of these numbers into perspective: Most AAA games (budget depending) are considered a pretty huge success if they manage 3-5 million copies sold. 8+ is amazing. 15-20 million+ is absolutely massive.
Then of course there’s the crazy sellers like Rockstar games, etc with 50+ million games sold on some titles.Last edited by R3L3NTL3SS; 02-24-2024 at 08:06 PM.

I’d consider myself to be a pretty huge BL fan. Have played every single game and DLC and loved them all.
And I had zero interest in Tiny Tina’s Wonderland. Just saying, I don’t think that game is a good indicator of the BL games fan base in general. Maybe I’m wrong but a lot of people I know who love BL weren’t interested in that game.
I will be VERY surprised if BL4 doesn’t do at least as well as BL3, which would be a huge success. I know several people IRL who will be pre ordering immediately (including myself).
