One of my favorite wrestlers of all time. Very good inside the ring, lots of brilliant matches, some memorable feuds, very charismatic, brilliant gimmick, good on mic, we wished he should have stayed longer in WWE after his 2006 exit, but he somewhat made up for it by his brief run in TNA...
I rank him at no. 8 in my all time best wrestlers list.

i'm surprised these posts don't get more reaction. awfully quiet around here for mania season.
Kurt's pushing top 10 for me. I don't know if I can rank him over Orton, Hunter or Bret. He's right there with those guys. same tier. maybe i'm harsh but he hurt his legacy a bit over the second half of his career. not entirely but enough where i don't think i have him top 10.
keeping it to my lifetime (i didn't see Andre or Bruno, i didn't see nearly enough Piper etc)
Hogan/Austin/ Cena / Rock tier 1
Taker/ Michaels / Flair tier 2
Randy / Hunter / Bret / Kurt? Savage? Jericho? Sting? gets tricky here

Angle was super talented, tons of natural charisma, an amazing worker and athlete.
However:
- Came into the business late
- Not tall
- Kept in a secondary backseat position constantly in WWE (likely: jealousy/HHH)
- Bad personal habits
- Half of his legacy was in second-rate TNA
All the cons take him back a lot, although on pure talent and potential, he could have been up there with Ric Flair, possibly. All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

Absolute no 1. Who cares Hulk Hogan is the biggest draw, Kurt Angle is a national hero, an Olympic Gold medalist and one of the best wrestler ever, If this was 2004 every one asked who the best wrestle is would say this name. the Olympic Gold medalist took the wrestling world by storm in 2000 winning the KOTR, the 6 men HIAC match, they said he is good at te3chnical wrestling not hardcore style, he shunned those idiots with one of the msot brutal match ever vs Shane McMahone at KOTR 2001 will never forget the glass walls shattering the final top rope Angle Slam and all, him vs Austin Unforgiven 2001, his 2003 RR match with Benoit was technical wrestling perfection, than the 60 minutes Iron Man match with Brock lesnar the same year, next year vs Eddie at WM 20 despite his neck issues put out a classic, 2005 amazing matcehs with cena and HBK at No Way Out and Wm 21 respectively and the HBK rematch at Vengeance and the list goes on and on, in TNA his matches with Samoa Joe, AJ Styles and Jeff Jarret 2006-2009 were stand outs, 2010 one of the ebst cage match ever vs Kennedy where Angle performed the amazing moonassult opf the top of the cage despite his size, 2017 his return 3 vs 5 TLC match at Survivor Series and likst goes on and on, wish he had a better send off match than the junk wwith Corbin but Vince never got over him rejecting multiple offers to return to WWE after his initial went to TNA (WWE once asked him to join rehab with them due to DUI issues in 2009, Angle spat that he rather rehab on the street, ouch vice) and HHH was always insecure of him his glory far overshadowed his storied junk trash (and had Angle been single and proposed to Steph she would have chosen him), and never gave him a final golden run like Rock, Goldberg and Lesnar got, todays newbie fans will never understand what Angle was in the 2000s).
Btw there are too many great wrestlers, and there have been countless ranking and rating here and other forums, no need top name each and have views just to get more comments, and a lot of newbie fans won't give proper rating to the true best wrestler that ever lived Kurt Angle, many retired before they were born I have been watching since 1996 and Kurt Angle > Ric flair, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels and anyone and till date Kurt Angle vs Stone Cold Steve Austin Unforgiven 2001 is the best wrestling match I ever seen and a true passing the torch and the true end of Austin's big run and Angle had so many classics in WWF/E and TNA, and I even seen his Olympic gold medal winning match against that iranian guy the same year I started watching pro wrestling, Kurt Angle is the best wrestler of all times! Anyway stop making these treads pls you won't get accurate pics of our old favorites.

Always felt he was born too late-if he was around in the 1970's he could have had a Kiniski, Dory Jr, Brisco etc level run with the NWA title. His match quality remained to an insanely high level for over a decade. My only issue with him is the amount of drugs he was on meant he lost sense of humour/comedic ability from the mid 2000's, a year or so before he left WWE.
Would certainly be in the top 100 ever somewhere-probably down the lower reaches. Getting in earlier & without all the injuries would have helped him, if his career at that level was twice as long he would probably be top 20 of all-time.AP5 Crew

His first Year in wrestling he surpassed most the roster. He was second only to Chris Benoit. They had their match at wm17. Wm21, and wm 20. And baron corbin in his retirement match is one of the best wrestling matches I recall in recent times. Check him out on the Joe Rogan podcast. On doctors advise , “they told me it can end my life. Somebody tell them, this is my life.” - Kurt Angle
He inspired a lot of people and even when older he schooled men on average joes vs. pros?BLM (Brock Lesnar Matters)

I don't know why he went to TNA in 2007, when his super prime had just started in WWE...but I guess return from injuries meant he wanted to work in a company with a lighter schedule like TNA. Anyways, in TNA....I really liked his feuds/matches with AJ Styles and Samoa Joe (they don't get much recognition coz it was in TNA, but they were damn good).

In ring he's great, one of the best to ever do it; but, he never had that larger-than-life super hero (or villain) charisma to take him to the next level. He always seemed like kind of a goofball. So when you are talking all timers, he falls short of the obvious ones like Hulk Hogan, El Santo, and Steve Austin, etc.

Top 20, had everything you could want except for height which he got away with because you knew he was legit.
Suffered from poor booking at times but was always entertaining and could have had the belt put on him at any point in his career and it would have made sense at any point because he was that good.
One of the GOAT's

it would hard to argue hes not top 10. he had legit wrestling skills, that in a dream match scenario, could have rivaled Bret hart. He had incredible charisma, comedic timing and when he needed to became an intense killer.
Example: all in the same feud with HBK he had sensational sherri come out and sing sexy kurt then in the match he was perc angle manhandling hbk
also alot of fans may not give him his just due because they missed his time in TNA

you missed the point completely, most old school fans who saw Kurt Angle's amazing early 2000s-mid 2000s WWE run and mid 2000s- mid 2010s TNA run have stopped watching wrestling and newbie fans who started watching round 2010 now dominate the internet and they didn't see his classics like the brutal match with Shane at KOTR 2001 or Jeff Jarret at Genesis 2009 or technical classics with guys like Benoit and Styles, or the power housing classic with Undertaker at vengeance 2002. So they only Saw Angle's weak 2017-2019 past his prime time and will give lower rank, old school fans know that if this was 2004 Angle will be ranked no 1 but its sadly 2024, and bring classic wrestlers and asking opinions of newbie fans who grew up watching clowns like Bray Wyatt thinking they are some mega stars is pointless, most of the old fanbase who saw Angle's prime years left so no point asking about him anymore and its just trashy to see new fans ranking him low having no clue how amazing he was in WWE and TNA, 2000-2016 was his shining time in wrestling divided between WWE and TNA but new fans won't know how great he was!

Well, depends. It's a 50-50 take in it. Some new fans of wrestling spend lots of time watching wrestling from the old times, but yeah they won't be able to enjoy it as much and might see it differently then us....just like we don't bother with wrestling from 1980's and early 1990's much (there wasn't much in those days to begin with)...
