But not with the 4 day week part, I take issue with the "everyone should" part. This kind of myopic thinking is always an issue when work matters are discussed. Everyone loves to apply a "one size fits all" model for some reason.

Personally I am not an industrious person at all and would love a reduction in working hours, but I recognise that some people are hardcore workers. Some kunts LOVE to work. You can't take that away from them. They should also be fairly compensated for the extra work they do.

Ultimately, I think the hard workers in soceity have little to complain about. They're usually fairly rewarded. It's those of us who can and do work, but don't live to work, that tend to have unfair conditions and compensation.

50 hours is torture. 9-5ers who lift are coping. They forget the commute too.
Wake up say 7:30. Shower, shave, dress, breakfast, prep a meal for lunch (if you take one) takes you to 8-8:15 otherwise better wake up for 7.
Average commute is about half an hour could be much more or less
Work for 9
Leave work at 5:30
Commute to gym
Lift from 5:45-6:15ish for an hour hour 1/2
Leave gym and get home for 7ish
Make and eat dinner, all done by about 8 including dishes etc
Maybe squeeze in an hour gaming, seeing friends, Netflix etc
Brush teeth, get ready for bed, ideally in bed by 10-10:30
Make sure you're asleep by 11:30 so you at least get a standard 8 hours

All that is assuming you don't need to buy groceries, laundry, change bed sheets, ironing, any DIY, clean the bathroom, clean the house etc

Working 4 days really takes the edge off, rest better, sleep better and are more productive as a result

This is why WFH is so much more productive

It’s also better for the company. If I phukk off in the middle of the day to take the doge for a 10k walk or whatever I don’t have such a problem with helping one of the partners or a client out with something for a few minutes after hours.

Also if I have to grab something from the grocery store I can do that real quick with no lines or hassles parking etc cause it’s the middle of a work day
