I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the bodies of those three frozen Chiefs fans that were in some guy's backyard. If anything lends itself to being part of some vast football conspiracy involving the Chiefs, that has to be it.

I know off-topic, but I've found that case oddly fascinating. Maybe it is because I am a Sir Arthur Conan Doyle fan and its setup is on par with some of the better Sherlock Holmes stories. That said, it is looking like the events are significantly more mundane. Four dudes do some coke laced with ********. They all four pass out, but three of them happen to be outside when it happens and therefore freeze to death.

You wouldn't really lace a stimulant like coke with a sedative like fent@nyl to cut costs ... the product you are selling would be dangerous garbage and not have the desired effect.

It can of course be argued it's dangerous garbage in the first place, but if you want repeat customers you wouldn't do this.

It is cross-contamination the vast majority of times. Fortunately for me, fent@nyl wasn’t a thing in the 90’s but I can say from experience dealers are not keeping their different drug stashes safe from one another. One customer comes in for fent then the next for coke. Same table, scale, scoop, etc. Plus most drug dealers are also absolute trainwrecks.

Cross contamination is as good an explanation as any I suppose. The amount of fent required to be fatal is tiny and I don't imagine that those putting together their concoctions are working in pharmaceutical grade labs with carefully standardized procedures.

EDIT: Just read a few places that they are intentionally being mixed together given their combination produces a greater euphoric effect and increases its addictiveness.

This could certainly be true but it doesn’t make sense to me. Drugs that are already a depressant, fent will be a cheap way to cut the drug and increase profits. Fent is extremely cheap when compared to heroin, so a dealer can cut the heroin and then add fent to make it seem strong. Same thing with p*rcocet and x@nax. Both of these drugs are depressants. So a person will make counterfeit pills, and instead of putting the proper (expensive) drugs in the pills, they will put fent in because it's cheaper. People buying these pills usually just want to use them to get fcked up, so they don't complain too much. IMO nobody is putting fent in coke to make it stronger, get people addicted, whatever. The high from fent and coke is extremely different. Nobody who uses coke is going to think coke laced with fent is stronger, they are going to wonder what is wrong with their coke because it doesn't feel right. Coke is addictive on its own, and adding just enough fent to make it addictive but not make it not feel right isn't going to happen. Why go through the effort when people already want your product.

Agree with you here -- the margin for error is so tiny but maybe the profit is worth a few bodies to them. Kinda f'cked up, but not surprising.
