A new global gender divide is emerging
Young men and young women’s world views are pulling apart. The consequences could be far-reaching
One of the most well-established patterns in measuring public opinion is that every generation tends to move as one in terms of its politics and general ideology. Its members share the same formative experiences, reach life’s big milestones at the same time and intermingle in the same spaces. So how should we make sense of reports that Gen Z is hyper-progressive on certain issues, but surprisingly conservative on others?
The answer, in the words of Alice Evans, a visiting fellow at Stanford University and one of the leading researchers on the topic, is that today’s under-thirties are undergoing a great gender divergence, with young women in the former camp and young men the latter. Gen Z is two generations, not one.
In countries on every continent, an ideological gap has opened up between young men and women. Tens of millions of people who occupy the same cities, workplaces, classrooms and even homes no longer see eye-to-eye.
In the US, Gallup data shows that after decades where the sexes were each spread roughly equally across liberal and conservative world views, women aged 18 to 30 are now 30 percentage points more liberal than their male contemporaries. That gap took just six years to open up.
Germany also now shows a 30-point gap between increasingly conservative young men and progressive female contemporaries, and in the UK the gap is 25 points. In Poland last year, almost half of men aged 18-21 backed the hard-right Confederation party, compared to just a sixth of young women of the same age.
Outside the west, there are even more stark divisions. In South Korea there is now a yawning chasm between young men and women, and it’s a similar situation in China. In Africa, Tunisia shows the same pattern. Notably, in every country this dramatic split is either exclusive to the younger generation or far more pronounced there than among men and women in their thirties and upwards.
The #MeToo movement was the key trigger, giving rise to fiercely feminist values among young women who felt empowered to speak out against long-running injustices. That spark found especially dry tinder in South Korea, where gender inequality remains stark, and outright misogyny is common.
In the country’s 2022 presidential election, while older men and women voted in lockstep, young men swung heavily behind the right-wing People Power party, and young women backed the liberal Democratic party in almost equal and opposite numbers.
Korea’s is an extreme situation, but it serves as a warning to other countries of what can happen when young men and women part ways. Its society is riven in two. Its marriage rate has plummeted, and birth rate has fallen precipitously, dropping to 0.78 births per woman in 2022, the lowest of any country in the world.
Seven years on from the initial #MeToo explosion, the gender divergence in attitudes has become self-sustaining. Survey data show that in many countries the ideological differences now extend beyond this issue. The clear progressive-vs-conservative divide on sexual harassment appears to have caused — or at least is part of — a broader realignment of young men and women into conservative and liberal camps respectively on other issues.
In the US, UK and Germany, young women now take far more liberal positions on immigration and racial justice than young men, while older age groups remain evenly matched. The trend in most countries has been one of women shifting left while men stand still, but there are signs that young men are actively moving to the right in Germany, where today’s under-30s are more opposed to immigration than their elders, and have shifted towards the far-right AfD in recent years.
It would be easy to say this is all a phase that will pass, but the ideology gaps are only growing, and data shows that people’s formative political experiences are hard to shake off. All of this is exacerbated by the fact that the proliferation of smartphones and social media mean that young men and women now increasingly inhabit separate spaces and experience separate cultures.
Too often young people’s views are overlooked owing to their low rates of political participation, but this shift could leave ripples for generations to come, impacting far more than vote counts.

Not totally sure why.. but I think it makes sense women could see sex as a way for money
And men think women are whores
I'm telling you.. I swear the opinion on women has changed. I encounter so many more men nowadays that just seem completely tired of women. Feel like I used to encounter men that would excuse women for anything in the world And nowadays, not only do men not really talk about women, but the overall arching theme that permeates is simply "women are whores". It's not just the misc
I could see women today realizing just how much power they have sexually and reallyyy over reaching their boundaries.. hoping there are no consequences
And men wanting them to chill out
This article could be a microcosm for that

Yeah misc boomers would have you believe every guy who says stuff like that is a basement dwelling incel but the truth is most normal guys are sick of their schit. I know guys who are chads that don’t even bother with women anymore.
I’ll just pump and dump and if I ever find a woman who I don’t hate I’ll marry her but that’s becoming hard to imagine. That ain’t Dababy that’s Basedbaby!

IMO there are two reasons for the ideological gap:
1) Women are far more conformist and status-obsessed than men, which makes them really easy to propagandize. If the media say that everyone believes X, or X is the high-status opinion, then almost all women will support X no matter now batchit insane it is. By now the media have abandoned all pretense to objectivity and are blasting left-wing propaganda nonstop, so women have become more leftist. This has been a problem since the advent of mass media, but social media and smartphones make it 10x worse. Before, women might have got one or two hours of propaganda a day when they watched the television news. Now they carry around a small computer that hits them with nonstop propaganda. It's completely fried their brains.
2) Big government is a massive wealth transfer from men to women. Government employees are disproportionately women, the gov't subsidizes sectors that disproportionately employ women (education, health care), and gov't regulations mandate all kinds of make-work jobs that disproportionately go to women (human resources, DEI chit). Not to mention the direct subsidies the gov't gives to women with bastard kids: welfare and EBT, free health care, tax refunds when they don't pay taxes in the first place, etc.
It's hard to overstate how huge this subsidy is or how integral it is to women's lib. When you think about all the female behavior miscers complain about--women using dating apps to hook up with a small group of chads, delaying marriage by 10-20 years to sloot around, etc.--all of that would be much harder without this massive subsidy. Likewise with abortion. Without left-wing governments guaranteeing free and legal abortion, women would have a far tougher time slooting. And more and more men are waking up and realizing how much this system screws them over. It's not just the sexual free-for-all disadvantages non-elite men, but they're connecting the dots and seeing that the taxes they pay enable this system.
The gap is biggest with under-30s because they're the least likely to be married. Once a woman marries, if her husband is right wing, he can counterbalance a lot of the left-wing propaganda she's exposed to. Marriage also changes a women's financial incentives: when she's single, big aggregate wealth transfers from men to women benefit her. After she's married and starts getting resources from a specific man, she no longer benefits from the gov't taxing men as a group to support women as a group. That would just mean having to share her husband's income with random women.
Since a byproduct of women's lib is fewer people marrying, and marrying later when they do, we should expect the ideological gap to stay large and increase over time.

Think it is much simpler - everyone (men, women, whites, blax) votes for their own self interest.
Men see current society as attacking the idea of masculinity and really trying to eliminate what it means to be a man, and conservatism as the last stand against this.
Women see current society as stacked against and unfair to women, and see liberalism as fighting this patriarchal status quo.
If dems stopped importing military-aged men in to the USA in record numbers and instead started exclusively mporting prime foreign poosy, all men would vote liberal and women would vote repub.modnegged4life

Once again, when it comes to Zoomer males, I really have no faith in them. Weakest generation, most medicated generation, brokest generation, and generation alpha will probably be worse.
How can you have faith after you read something like this?
One in five Gen Z adults identify as LGBTQ — and that number is only expected to go up, according to a Gallup poll

I don't know, I could easily see it going either way. Clown world is getting so out of hand that it could push a lot of zoomers to "the right". Think of the kids living in places like New York, not being able to afford chit, and seeing a bunch of illegals come in and get free housing and all of that - for one example.

Yep basically all true. Slowly but surely we're getting fed up with women's sh*t. They seriously aren't worth the trouble they cause. It's incredible we've reached the point where they don't even have to pretend to bring anything to the table in a relationship and still have miles of cock lined up to cater to their every desire. Absolutely pathetic, what did everyone think would happen when you start worshipping them in such a way? Of course they'll get worse and worse until they are completely unbearable.
Women are f*cking c*nts. Every single one of them in 2024 dead fkn srs. I encourage all of you to treat them like complete sh*t because they are horrible human beings. Use them for whatever you want and throw them in the gutter broken and penniless when you're finished.

Women have always been more left wing and collectivist than men. Another reason why we should remove their right to vote.
One party system; Most Republicans are Democrats, but no Democrats are Republicans.
Hayek and Mises were right; they're all socialists.
