No, the GX460 is basically a Land Cruiser Prado in a tuxedo. Not a 4Runner.
Similar to a 4Runner but vastly superior engine (4.6L V8 vs. 4.0L V6), smooth transmission (6 speed vs 5 speed), much more capable 4H / AWD / torsen diff vs plain part time 4x4 system with no locking front diff, more luxurious interior, same reliability, extensive aftermarket, etc.
And used GX460’s can be had for great bargains relative to the ludicrous Toyota tax people put on used 4Runners. You can get a MUCH nicer used GX460 for $40k than used 4Runner for $40K.

All of these that people are mentioning are ok but you should go drive them all before you buy. If you want a nicer driving car its either Mazda, Acura or Lexus. Mazda in my opinion and Acura drives more sporty than Lexus but neither will drive as tight as a German car.
You are going to find that 4Runners despite their reliability are not great to drive. They also tend to rust out as they age.
At one point I was considering a Lexus NX but no matter how far I put the seat back I cannot straighten my left leg, I am 6ft with a 32" inseam. I was also not impressed with the drive. It was ok but I was not in love with it.

Idk why people suggest 4 runner unless you want something for offroad or on the more rugged side
If it's for commuting or a daily driver... it sucks on gas, it's slow, the trans is dogchit slow and searching for gears half the time you floor it, the infotainment is old and outdated, theres literally nothing good about it except for reliability and capability. Capability is not even necessary for most people.
And on top of that it's going to have a Toyota tax.
And let's be real, a 4 runner doesn't look bad ass unless it's lifted and built out, or at the very least a TRD pro model, which will be absurdly priced. A regular sr5 or whatever model it is, is just a soccer mom suv.Sometimes I park in handicap spaces, while handicap people make handicap faces
