    Super Wide Grip Barbell Curls

    Gang here’s one I decided to just give it a go at the end of today’s workout.

    I just used the empty 45# bar and did 40reps.

    It felt damn good.

    I’m thinking this will be a good one to work up for 100reps in.

    I did these for the 2nd time except I add 5# and did 45 nonstop reps.

    Next time I will just use the empty bar and go for around 60 nonstop.

    This hits the back muscles in a unique way, it feels fricking great.

    I also did these as a warmup for curls which is a different kinda mindset here. After that high rep set, I did heavy doubles in the power curl working up.

    Don't know if he was doing poundstone or not, but saw a guy in gym yesterday, huge guy absolute monster, he must have done 100 reps like that. In his case he was chatting to one of the gym trainers as he did it, never needed to pause to rest or even slow down, made it look like he was doing it with a broomstick

    45lb bar +..?

    Actually I just saw a vid of pounstone curls.

    The only problem related to this thread is they are not wide grip.

    I’m talking about doing wide wide grip here. It’s a very unique feel.

    I still like the 100rep idea on regular curls though, sofar I’ve done 65 reps with 60pounds. The goal is to get 100 at some point, any means necessary. But I’m gonna Hit 100 reps first with the wide grip. I think the wide grip is well suited for lighter weights and higher reps, hits different areas.

    I used to train at Womack's Gym (later became a Power House) back in Hurst TX (in between Dallas and Ft Worth), I remember he had us do a you go/I go type workout with curls, not wide grip, just high rep, non stop except for your partner to do his reps and had the bar back to you. You did 20 reps, add weight, 15 reps, add weight, 12 reps, add weight, 10 reps, add weight, 7 reps, add weight, 5 reps, add weight, 3 reps, add weight, strip back to your starting weight and do 20 reps again. Fantastic burn and pump.

    I’m still keeping these in about once a week for high reps, on its own day. I do them at the end of another muscle group session.

    I did 70reps with the 45# empty bar.

    I gotta say that this is my favorite bicep exercise behind the regular heavy curl mass builder.

    I been doing these routinely adding 10reps and adding a little weight to the bar.

    Today I got 100reps with the 45# empty bar. The width of my grip is pinkies on the outer ring of the bar.

    As usual this was an enormous bicep pump plus it hits the traps in ways that are hard to via heavy shrugs. Because the weight is so light and the arms give out first the traps take over and because the weight is light the traps are better targeted.

    These are so easy to do because they take under 5 minutes and you are cooked.

    Next will be 50# x 100 and 45# bar x 110.

    Although it's not the style of training that appeals to me (at this moment). A set of 100 with a bar is impressive!
