NBA never recovered after MJ retired; Is the same happening to NFL after Brady?

This has been the most trash season I can remember since before Brady.

We all know what happened to the NBA after Jordan retired. They pathetically still cling to him and mention him as much as they can to this day comparing every new player to him as a weak attempt to keep interest in the sport.

We're probably now in the midst of seeing the same thing happen to the NFL.
"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

Fukk Brady. He was good no doubt but I'm glad he finally decided to fukk off. It's sickening to hear him talk about the rules nowadays, how it should be on you and your teammates to protect yourselves, not on your opponents to protect you. What's coming out of his mouth is correct, but that's nothing at all like the way he played. Fukking poosy was looking for a flag after every play, and he taught Gronk and his receivers to do the same.

I think we're just in a lull currently. For years we had elite play from Brady/Manning/Rodgers/Brees and it was amazing to watch. The only guy really close to that level currently is Mahomes.

It's a bitch move. And I like Rodgers, but he did it too, just not as much as Brady, so he's a bitch for doing that too.

Regardless, if that's his reasoning, he doesn't get to play like that and then retire and now talk about how stuff like that is ruining the game without getting called out for being a hypocrite and a phaggot.

The NBA contracts are insane right now, the value of the teams are insane, the TV deal is about to 2-3x it's current value, the NBA players association is better than the NFLs

The NBA is winning lol . You ask an NFL player if they'd rather be a football or basketball player and they all almost unanimously say bball

Guys we're not talking about revenue. We're talking about the quality of the product. LMAO at pointing to revenue.... all you're proving is people are retards who will pay to watch anything.... ANYTHING....

Besides the Jordan era is what got these people locked in and watching even as the product fell apart. Loyalty is a bitch. NFL will rake in cash too following Brady but the product will suffer. It will never be as entertaining again and the people with a brain will be able to recognize the difference just like the drop off in quality of the NBA post-Jordan.

If you actually think NBA is as high quality now as the Jordan era you need to get your brain checked.

Sh*t if you don't believe me what about WWF/WWE? Current revenue is 1.33 billion. In 2001 (as far back as I could find) it's revenue was just 0.43 billion. In other words it's now 3x as profitable as 2001. Anyone actually bold enough to tell me WWF didn't peak during the attitude era and it's peaking now instead? LMAO if so.

The problem is the current CBA limits practice time. So the offense aren’t able to build the continuity the way they were 10 -15 years ago

Even if we were talking about player earnings, it's an apples to oranges comparison. Obviously if you had no preference to either sport it would be more desirable to be in the NBA. The NFL is much more violent. Also the NBA has what 15 roster spots? NFL has 53 man rosters, that's a lot more people that the money has to be spread around to.

Actually, one NFL gets better ratings than the entire NBA regular season alone. The NBA is overrated AF and it's because nobody likes leFAG james.

OP's glazing of Brady is reaching shameful levels. You need a new hobby OP. Braves are perennial chokers, Falcons ain't ****, and Georgia is on a 7 month vacation.
All it takes is Mookie Betts, Steph Curry, and Joe Burrow all sitting in the same car in order for one drunk driver to make the world a significantly better place.

NBA started to drop in quality roughly around 2012. But at the same time, players and teams were evolving the game and breaking boundaries. I think the league is always going to be exciting. Adam Silver is to blame for how mediocre the product has been overall though. We got players like Draymond routinely spazzing out and assaulting dudes' nuts. You think Stern would have let that goofy mfer have his way like that all these times?

If the idea is to watch super teams win year after year with face of the sport then yeah, that is not happening.
But if like in other pro sports they want popularity among all sports markets, with a few standout superstars, then yes that is happening.

We are talking **all sports** right, since you used Jordan as your example?
Dont narrow your singular focus to just nfl just to seem right on a dying indian non bodybuilding forum.
Take a broader look at the nba, mlb, nhl, and the nfl where there have been known fixing of outcomes.
    LeBron
    Ovechkin
    the Dodgers/Braves
All are MJ in their own way and are not wining it all.

So let me get this straight, you're saying the NBA is more entertaining with LeBron's era than it was during MJ's era?

Haven't watched NBA since MJ, but this NFL season has been one of the most interesting seasons ever. The most parity across the league I can remember making it completely unpredictable, nobody would ever predicted Philadelphia would completely fall apart losing 6 out 7 or on the opposite end Buffalo somehow fighting their way back into the playoffs and winning despite their awful record and remaining schedule that made it close to impossible for them. Even at this point in the playoffs it is looking wide open with no obvious favorite.

LMAO if so.
The quality of basketball today is a lot better than it was in Jordan's era

Jordan played in an expansion era where talent was spread extremely thin with all the new teams and before global players were really a thing

You really enjoy watching Bulls vs Trail Blazers or Bulls vs Suns where the Suns 2nd best player was some white dude that nobody even remembers the name of? lol

It depends on what you like to see and watch; i had several family members who watched Wilt Chamberlain, hate on the "boring" MJ era because there was no Steph, Lebron, or others to add to the viewing experience. I personally enjoy Steph Curry, Lebron and Luka as well as others. Can't i just like both eras? If you like sports it is reasonable to enjoy all.
Can i appreciate the Brady era and enjoy Brock Purdy?

That's not what I asked. I asked which was more entertaining. Picking one over the other does not mean you can't also find the LeBron era entertaining, if you choose.

Everyone has a favorite so let's not go down this road of straddling the lines with comments about how you like them both for their differences equally.

You clearly didn't even read the post where I addressed this. WWE is much bigger from a revenue perspective compared to the attitude era of the late 90s when it was really peaking in terms of quality.

You guys do understand the factors that drive revenue aren't necessarily always a quality product, right? There's a much bigger population in America now than in the 90s. There's greater wealth as well. All of this means there will be more consumption of these products happening, even if the quality as fallen off. There is nobody to compete with the NBA or NFL. If you want to watch professional football or basketball, that is what you watch and with more and more people in this country looking to watch something you can even drive the prices up. You can have bigger stadiums and/or higher prices because there are substantially more people to market to than previously.

LMAO at some of you trying to mix business with entertainment. We're not even talking about the same things in that light so if you want to join the thread I suggest you get on topic.

I can appreciate your point but the comparison just ain't there

MJ never woulda never let happen what ensued in the 2007 season to the Pats
Quite possibly the most disappointing team in the league's entire history

Nobody worried about the NBA when Bill Russell retired
    Nascar American
