Most democrats don't want to do that to kids, it's an exaggeration to suggest that's normal on the left. You're taking the most extremes of their group and suggesting that's them, it's not healthy or realistic. It doesn't help anyone.


Obama wasn't that divisive, neither was W Bush. Neither of them were quite as divisive as recent candidates.

Being right leaning, imho, is a bit smarter right now than being left leaning. Still, you want to unite. If not for any of the smart reasons, because a uniting right leaning person will take huge chunks of "centrist" people and swing them to the right, useful policy will be passed faster, etc.
