Yeah the turbos are definitely the way to go for a fast road going 911, but I'd probably just get one of the base models, S, or 4's. Still, I always preferred the sound of the NA engines, but you gotta get a GT3 for that. I bet the GT3 touring isn't too bad, but still, I'd rather just have a Ferrari.
Some people are Porsche guys, I have never been one.

I live in Vegas, and ironically if you don't drive a German car or Tesla, you stick out more. It's wild. I think only "car guys" would be able to pick out higher end or unique models of brands.

I haven't noticed that with Mercedes in general. My parents have owned some Mercedes vehicles and they receive little notice. Dad's former Corvette on the other hand would receive a ridiculous amount of attention.
Kind of chuckled when a neighbor was in a car accident. It wasn't much of an accident and everyone seemed alright. The neighbor called a friend of his to come and help out. The friend came driving up in a Bentley. On sight of the Bentley, the other people in the slight crash began complaining of aches, pains and their neck hurting. Moral of the story, if in an accident don't call your friend that owns a Bentley.

I owned a BMW once. But only because my land lord gave it too me dirt cheap and it was a 1993 525i which I got on 2009 I believe so it was far from nice.
Was a pain to work on had to go to three different places before I could even find someone that knew how to out the right/proper spark plugs in it.
Ended up having to take it to a specialty shop.."it takes a wise man to know when he is in error and a noble man to admit to it"

Here's my experiene OP, for what it's worth:
2014 - brand new C250 sedan: Sloots loved it because I was about to turn 30 and I was driving around what was $80k worth of car (lmfao at Aussie car prices and luxury car tax)
2017 - traded in for a 12 month old E350 sedan: Everyone was mirin - black colour was sick. Sold late 2020.
2020 - brand new A45 AMG with the aero pack: Same again, everyone was all over it. Everyone. Some refused to believe it was mine because I don't dress or act like I have money. Sold in 2022.
2022 - brand new BMW iDrive e40 - went electric for some reason. This had people talking - the lack of noise, the M4 looking body, the fact they were $130k brand new with the options I had - but it didn't get the same level of interest as the first or third Benz. Sold after four months.
I've also borrowed Audi A and S class cars over night or over a couple of nights as test drivers - they look too plain, like a regular sedan. No one gave a fuck but I'd imagine an R8 would fix that.
2023 - 18 month old Mustang GT because brand new had a 12 month wait list - THIS was the car that got the attention. Girls, car guys, employees, young kids who keep yelling "rip it!" or "do a burnout!!", complete strangers - one bloke asked me how much it was; when I told him under $80k he couldn't believe I paid $80k for a Ferrari.
