I’m an anesthetist and I like my job. Hate getting up at 5:20 am every day though srs thats miserable. My job is stressful as **** though and challenging but that keeps it interesting. It does take years off my life when people are dying left and right though and I’m trying to save them, or very difficult intubations on 500 lb fatties whose oxygen tanks in 5 sec flat

love hurts, eh. If I hated my work, I would most likely keep climbing the ladder and reach rather high. Instead, I continue enjoying every day, reading, studying, doing some research an picking projects to improve my work.

I was an officecel for 22 years, hated that chit about halfway through. Stupid conference calls, dumb meetings, lunch/dinner with clueless idiots, retarded emails.

Quit 5 years ago to become a trucker, I absolutely fukin love it. More money, work 4 days a week local dumping fuel. I wish I would’ve done it sooner.

Slaughterhouse worker and I love it, best ****in job ever and I wouldn't trade it for anything. Theres nothing better than teaching these stupid pigs a lesson. After they get gassed in the CO2 chamber I always give them a bit of a shake to wake them up and then proceed to slit their throats. Not too deep though, want to make sure they get boiled alive in the scalder

The one and only job that I really enjoyed was during my college/geology major years.
I worked for the USGS (Menlo Park) on some very interesting field work projects in California's earthquake country.

Very rewarding work but I was more involved with music (also a major) and playing in live bands by that time.

Back to it.

I like my job. One of 5 owners of a 50-person civil engineering consulting firm. I am a PE, but I am responsible for our business development/strategic growth/marketing, managing clients, developing relationships, and bringing in new projects. So I get to work on the projects where the engineering/design is done from 30,000-feet and figuring if its gonna work, how to make it work, negotiate the design contract, then pass the project off to one of our design teams to handle the details of the design. To me that is the fun part of projects, the initial conceptualizing....getting in AutoCAD and drawing plans 40-hours a week is not it, mane. But you got to be good at design to become a PM, got to be a good PM to develop relationships and start bringing value to the company, got to do that to become an owner, etc. So I put my work in to get to the job I like.

Also on the BD side I regularly hang out with clients (that are also friends), play golf, have beers, fuk off, etc...I get to come and go as I please, but don't abuse it.

Im in school for anestheisa right now. Every anesthetist that ive met is glad to be one. As far as years off your life, humans were designed to handle thde stress of losing their life on a regular basis. It probably increases your health if anything, as long as you deal with it properly. But i know what you're saying. That is definitely a high stress career.

Not sure but this is how some people really are working in these places. This is why you should either kill animals yourselves, get it done from someone you can trust, or go vegan
