I lift first thing in the morning usually within an hour of waking up. It’s what I do. I tried lifting fasted a couple of times, almost died the first time and the second time I actually think I died.
So for me it’s been the same breakfast for the most part since I was a kid. A couple slices of toast with honey or PB on it. Boring I know, I have been told that many times.
However, I am just being nosey and not complaining about it, I love it and dream about it sometimes, especially if it's a toasted PB and J sammich. After I am done lifting I have a full on breakfast for example, a few scrambled eggs with some meat and carbs.
So what do you guys have for breakfast? Especially the morning lifters.

I tell it like it is, if you want smoke blown up your ass or something sugar coated. I suggest you get a Hooker and a powdered donut.

MT, I workout early and no eating before. After, I make some coffee and take a shower and then eat some oatmeal. Love banana and cinnamon or blueberries or strawberries.
Once a week I might have some farm-fresh eggs and homemade bread toast.
I eat mostly oatmeal for the good fiber and it is always delicious.Helping one person may not change the world, but it could change the world for one person.

I only eat breakfast on the weekends (Saturday, Sunday) which are the two days I lift earlier in the morning. Bacon, eggs, oatmeal, OJ, etc.
Just have coffee in the morning during the week (which I could honestly take or leave, definitely don't need it). Lift around 11am those days and prefer to eat afterwards. I'll have a smoothie prior to lifting on some heavier/intense days though.

Just coffee. I get up at 5:30 am and start my workout around 7:30 am.
I used to eat cereal (typically plain bran flakes) for breakfast but stopped when I started working out in 2015. My first meal is now a protein shake after my workout.
I didn't realize it until about a year in that as a result, I was doing intermittent fasting. I think this site is where I learned about it. It works for me.

I suck at lifting in the mornings and i eat dinner late( 8-10pm) after the gym, so i am still full at breakfast time.
THIS IS PERFECT for me because it has caused an intermittent fasting type situation where i don't eat until 12 or 2pm and end then again eating after the gym.
Rinse and repeat.Last edited by x-trainer ben; 11-30-2023 at 07:41 AM.

I have not eaten before 1-3pm for the past 5 years (outside a handful of times).
Fasting is my norm now and has been for sometime. I workout in evenings so not really an issue. But I think I would still do the same if I worked out AM. But I would probably switch to eating something after working out and shift my fasting window.
IF is just so easy and given that I dont really 'progress' these days, it is by far the best way for me to control body fat and eat pretty much whatever I want.RAW lifts

As a teacher, I tend to need something in my belly to stabilize my mood a bit in the AM but waking up to an alarm vs naturally usually causes me to not be so hungry (especially post 30).
My current breakfast is very simple but helps me hydrate and get some easy protein. I boil up some miso soup with dry seaweed, spring onion, maybe some dry tofu and drop two eggs in and whisk gently. Drink that and then have a coffee and piece of fruit. This really hits the spot for me. On my weekends, I usually like to have some whole-grain or german rye or pumpernickle toast with eggs and baked beans.https://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=180003183&p=1635918623#post1635918623

I’ve never done the same thing for years.
There was a time, when the hounds were young, they’d wake me up at 6am and we would for an hour, and then I would squat “fasted”. I got down to 160# BW back then.
I can tell you now though tomorrow first I’m gonna eat a horse coc sized banana, and 15 minutes later a builder bar followed by one of my new natty fig bars I just got. Then about an hour later I’ll start on the bagels and PB, throw in some eggs later in the day, early afternoon.
I know I can eat a certain AF Vet for breakfast, lol!Authentic Knights Swing Heavy Steel and Have Hands and Wrists of Steel!
