What I always had trouble understanding is all the somewhat respectable (in their professions) actors who jumped on the Supercukc movie bandwagon.
Sure it was all big money, but I seem to remember actors used to have some responsibility to audiences to not appear in absolute garbage.

The Marvels didn't have that though, and the first one made over a billion. Really, the problem they had was uninteresting characters. Should have been Captain Marvel meeting the Silver Surfer and setting up Galactus or something.

It had its appeal at the start of the Marvel cinematic universe. The shared universe concept hadn't really been done before at the level Marvel was doing it. So I understood why fans were excited about it. I liked it as well even though I wasn't a giant fan of the characters. Just as a film fan, I thought it was fresh and exciting. The problem is, after Marvel finished the whole Avengers vs. Thanos story arc, there wasn't much to do from there. Seriously, who the hell cares about this middling characters they currently have?

Thor and Hulk are still technically on the roster, but they're not really doing much with them. And I think they ran their course. And who is the main villain for this next phase anyway? Was it Kang? Lulz. There's just nothing for even Marvel cinematic fans to care much about here. The superhero market, especially anything to do with Marvel, is so over saturated as well. Movies. Tv shows. Fuark.

I seriously haven't watched a Marvel movie in years. I just don't care. The only thing I think that will get people back in the theaters is if they reboot X-Men. That's it. Or somehow get Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans to return as Ironman and Captain America. And even then, it's kind of tired. The fact that Marvel is rolling out these films that look more like episodes on a tv show as well as thinking the general public cares about this generic super heroes like Captain Marvel and others shows how much awareness Marvel lacks.
