A young couple buying their first home now is looking at a 2500 to 4K payment. The median household income in america is 75k. That's 4500 take home pay. How does someone afford a 3k mortgage making 4500 a month?
It's now getting to the point where, if you're a young person trying to become well off in life, forget about it if you're not making at least 150 to 200K. 150k is bare minimum to afford a 3k mortgage, pay everything and still save for retirement

My buddy is a cop and he is pulls overtime. My dad worked in the jails and he pulled overtime. I'm a teacher and I do some side work and add credentials so my pay increases. Difficult is still doable... People really just don't want to try anymore. And I totally understand the economic situation has changed and shifted... but guess what? Boo hoo. I took off to the Middle East to teach so I can get a nest egg. That sh*t sucked... but life ain't easy, excuses and whining are.

Same way they always have: saving a bigger down payment by renting way below your means, driving a used pos or taking public transit, getting a loan from family and then paying it back, and working hard to increase income
I was renting a basement suite under a family of six 10 years ago and now I have mortgages on two houses, and the people who are whining today were the same fukkers whining in 2013

By lowering their expectations and growing up.
Instead of "quiet quiting" their jobs and doing the bare minimum, commit to the job and actually work hard to try earn more money, gain promotions or increase their industry worth to increase salary at another company if needed.
Instead of expecting their first home to be a penthouse in a major city, understand that they may need to buy in the outer suburbs and commute to work. May need to make sacrifices to their social life in order to purchase a property.
Or they can simply ignore the above advice and continue to rent, which is absolutely fine, but they then lose the right to complain.

Look for smaller houses. I guarantee I can find a starter home within 45 minutes of any of you here, with a mortgage of $2,500/month.
All you need to do in life is this.
1. Realize when you pay a mortgage, a lot of it goes right back into your pocket as net worth.
2. Get a job where your take home pay is $2,500/month, plus the other costs you need to live. That's not that hard.

there are tons of opportunities to make lots of money. the thing is that many don't know about it, and they choose to go the long route by getting into college debt. the trade-off is that a college job might ensure your ability to stay employed longer than if you're not college educated.
for example, in nyc, women who work in the beauty industry (manicurist, hair stylist, eyelash tech, all kinds of beauty treatments - botox, facials, etc.,) can easily earn $50-90k or even more. add a husband or bf who earns more, and the couple can afford to buy their own apartment and a decent car outside of manhattan.
some of the younger crowd think that a "job" automatically means mcdonald's. meanwhile for someone else it can mean working as a medical assistant at a dr's office. one is usually a dead-end job, while the other can do a great deal to help you get into the medical field.
lots of teens also got into social media professions (marketing, streaming, slooting, etc.). they can make lots of money there if they're good at what they do.
not everyone has to bust their ass off at a 9-5 until they're 50+ to afford a home. just have to figure things out on your own. that's the difficult part. also have to be very motivated.▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒

Following ways:
- Start a business in Delaware or Wyoming
- Don't date in the west or date foreign babes who are on vacation
- Live with parents if possible and no shame either
- Live with roommates if they are decent folks
- Avoid relationships with modern western women
- Learn boxing, martial arts, yoga or bodybuilding or fitness and monetize that aspect
- For marketing and finding expert, I find the best coders and designers overseas who charge less and work 10 times harder
This life is for extreme winners or losers and you can also be a winner and loser at the same time depending on the aspect of life. So its best to learn some form of meditation or a way to enjoy a silent mind because this life that is somewhat of a nightmarish will break many people.

Yeah, about 3,500 usd per month tax free plus free apartment, free flights, free travel to and from work, free utilities and bonus one month pay per year worked... I was basically able to pocket way more than I could in the US. And the students despite being overall kind of bad... were still better because I could actually tell them to shut up and break up fights for real without risking a lawsuit or some nonsense. Now I'm in China making more money overall.
