I live in a very conservative area of the USA. And yeah I like it. Couldn't imagine living in California or NYC though... For the most part, all the large cities have gone down hill with crime and poverty. But haven't seen much change where I live besides inflation.

The cities around me have mild crime rate, but the area I'm in is more mid-upper class. I've never, in my adult life, seen someone hold a gun (even a policeman), or any other weapon really, with violent intent. SRS.
So I'd say the word "peaceful" is applicable. Road rage and drunkards exist. But aside from inflation, and social banter/behaviors, not much has changed from like '10 to '23. There's beaches, youth, elderly, stadiums, art, greenery. It's fine here I'd say.i7-14700k

San Diego has insane natural beauty and the weather is incredible. Though it's more of a vapid party city than I was expecting.
Rent is obscene though. I've sold so much of my belongings and taken out loans just to live here to finish school. My tuition is fully covered but it's impossible to afford rent with a part time job. I'd love to check out middle america somedayωσяℓ∂ тяανєℓєя ȼяєω
