    Late night Protein Shake

I always drink milk before I go to bed. Lately I've changed that to a protein shake. Is there anything wrong with this? It's just Whey w/ Fat Fee or 1% milk. I've been working on lowering my fat but some around the belly will not go away...I was wonder if this might be my problem.

Depends on what your diet is like during the day. How long ago you worked out. Calories in the shake. Your goals.

I also take whey with milk before bed. The milk will give you the casein protein that you need. However, I am bulking. Many feel that milk is not a good choice when cutting because of some sugars. There is some good info on it over in the nutrition forum.

hey No Mercy, so you drink milk with whey as your late night shake. What is the time difference between casein and micellar casein? Wouldnt micellar last longer in your body then good ol milk?

Personally I take HDT Pro Blend 55 before bed, it is a mix of proteins. Sometimes I'll buy milk isolate or caesin from protein customizer, and use that mixed with a little whey. I don't know how much of a difference it even makes, cause I used to use just milk and whey, and that's what I use when I run out of blend. I always add a little canola oil to my night time shake too so slow it down.

Probuck, I workout at night. My diet is for the most part fat free w/ lots of water. At night I usually have creatine when I get home 7:00ish...a meal about an hour later and then my shake around 10:00. There's also about a 20 minute walk the dog session while I'm home...for what it's worth.

yes i drink whey with milk before bed as of now. I am bulking and not worried about the sugars from milk. I feel that casein from milk or from a supplement is still casein. Either way I am getting a slow digesting protein in my system before bed.

I agree that I am not sure how much of a difference it would make. I will eventually pick up a blend and try it out when bulking. I will see if it makes a difference.

I try to eat solid food like 0 fat cottage cheese or grilled chicken right before bed and mix up a casein/whey shake to stick in the fridge and gulp down when I get up for my 2 a.m. bathroom run.

I drink a myofusion shake every night about an hour before bed. I usually eat dinner around 6:30 then make a shake at 8:30

I always drink a shake before bed consisting of 20 ounces of Skim Milk and one scoop ON NitroCore 24.

I do this whether I'm bulking or cutting. It's a staple for me.

I take Whey Protein at my breakfast and Casein Protein before going to bed. Casein Protein is a slow digesting protein, so it works best when sleeping. Preferred brand would be ON.
