During Covid, places like Australia and the UK were arresting people for being outdoors without a mask on.
California kept businesses closed for over a year.
Texas was closed for ... about 10 days.
How many guns are owned in each of those places?
This is why we have a 2A

Raise your kids healthy and strong, brb having them get shot up at the movies or concert or school.
I'm pro 2a but let's be real-even if it's a tiny portion of the population getting shot, this chit is disturbing. If the gun lobby was smart they'd get behind laws that could prevent this chit. Instead they are going to fight it untill 2a is effectively nullified.-Virtue is its own reward

Anyone that is admitted to psychiatric care should have their homes searched for guns
And they should be taken away
It's basically that simple
But the ja in government would rather waste your tax dollars on 500 cops and 200 vehicles to show up after your dead
It's not a gun problem
It's a stupidity problem

AR-15 is the media's typical assault rifle. They mean assault rifle but probably have like a product placement marketing deal with Colt or something.
Assault rifles being a weapon designed to gunfight other humans and one of the most effective means to fight other humans while needing minimal intelligence, skill or training means it is a particularly contentious class of weapon.
On one hand 2A proponents will argue the whole point of 2A is to gunfight other humans so this is precisely the class that should be protected.
On the other hand, it is so easy and effective that when used nefariously it can be extremely devastating and terrifying, even if handled by a child or retard.

100%
I get the slippery slope argument that is trotted out against any of these sort of common sense ideas, but that's why I think that gun owners and the gun lobby has to get ahead of this chit. If Democrats force this through, 5 years later a divorced dude with a mean tweet is gonna have his guns taken. If this was brought up from a pro 2a side, those sort of shenanigans can be protected against. That guy in Maine obviously should not have had guns.-Virtue is its own reward

your trying to support taking away peoples amendment rights away from the mentally stable so the illegals can gun everyone down without fear of being shot back. classic bread roll of the ill.
should ban cars too while your at it since kids get ran over all the time plus you dont even need ammo to take out a bunch of people.
should ban your internet access since you can contact someone to buy a gun.
should close schools because they can indoctrinate the kids.
should close down the government all they do is have young kids kill people in other countries and launder money to themselves during murderess wars.

A key difference between first world and third world countries is whether it is indeed wild that most people don't get shot at the mall or if it is completely normal that noone gets shot at the mall.
I agree with the second point though, it's a good point. 7 single person murders is morally the same as one 7 person mass murder.
Mass murders skew towards white school kids?

However his commitment should have triggered the sheriff to get his weapons. That just didn't happen, because why idk...but he could have concealed the fact that he had them or they could have just dropped the ball and not reported to police that he got committed.
The guy was hearing voices and clearly unwell...he had paranoid schizophrenia and was hearing voices say horrible things to him.EX IGNORANTIA AD SAPIENTIAM

The gun debate typically lands in one of two camps:
- It's the guns
- It's a mental health crisis
Children in the US are 1,766% more likely to die by guns than comparable countries. If this was a mental health crisis, wouldn't we expect to see the US citizen's risk of mental health at comparable percentage? However, you are only 81% (2x) more likely to be diagnosed with a mental health condition in the US.
So a child is 18x more likely to die by a gun in the US compared to other countries, but the average American is only 2x more likely to have a mental health condition.
But guns have nothing to do with it?

What the fuk is comparable countries? And why single out guns? Sounds like angling for statistics you want rather than making a rational point. Child gun deaths especially from mass shootings are so small its an insignificant statistic.
The child mortality rate in the United States was 5.44 in 2020. This rate was 50th among the 195 countries and territories measured,
