Because wage increase should happen organically as a need in the economy due to increased demand, not by some bureaucratic government mandate that instead of improving the COL degrades it by artificially creating inflation, which is what ultimately happens in this case.

Because you're paid what someone deems your services are worth and no other system is just. If initially fast food workers are paid $1/hr, nobody is taking those jobs because they think it's ridiculous, and McDonalds suddenly can't meet the demand for their food since nobody is there to run operations, they'll naturally raise what they pay their workers to remain solvent.

I do honestly think there's a lot of greedy executives that overstate their worth vs the folks at the bottom of the ladder, but it'll again naturally correct itself over time if there's enough demand for that service and employees leave for greener pastures. I don't get why Biden is more qualified to determine a "fair" wage than the business owner and it's employees
