USPS actually pays pretty well, I can't speak for car manufacturers and warehouse stuff. But from what I've seen, the wages are fair.

As for the lower level workforce jobs, we love to jest about how they're useless, easy, and beneath us but I'm positive people would lose their minds if low level wagies just collectively stopped working.

If Congress raised the minimum wage to $10 or $12 an hour it wouldn't matter to most jobs. Thanks to Federal Reserve caused inflation I see gas stations advertising starting pay of $17/hr. Maybe min wage increases will help some felons, but that's about it. The one place it can bite is some union and non-union jobs where employees are guaranteed to be ____ multiple of the minimum wage. So if they're to be paid 2.5 or 3x the min wage a bump of min wage by $3 would immediately have those employees see their pay rise by $7.50 to $9 an hour. Hey, awesome for them, but it also means the costs get passed onto the consumer, and some of those employees will get pink slips right away.

And of course people currently making several dollars above min wage will demand their pay be bumped up too. If John is making $11 an hour cleaning businesses after hours and min wage gets bumped to $10-12 John is going to want $16-17 an hour. So min wage increases don't come without inflation.

I am for paying people what they are worth. Which is paying them for what they produce. So how much are you worth? It is how much it costs to replace your work.

If you are undervalued you apply somewhere else and show you got that skill set. I got a 2% raise last year. Wasn't happy so I changed jobs.
