Rising up, back on the street
Did my time, took my chances
Went the distance, now I'm back on my feet
Just a man and his will to survive
So many times, it happens too fast
You trade your passion for glory
Don't lose your grip on the dreams of the past
You must fight just to keep them alive
[Chorus]
It's the eye of the tiger
It's the thrill of the fight
Rising up to the challenge of our rival
And the last known survivor
Stalks his prey in the night
And he's watching us all
With the eye of the tigerLast edited by Itzblunted; 09-26-2023 at 08:31 PM. Reason: Inn

This. Great song, ridiculous music video, highlights everything that was weird and tacky about the 80s

On spread with you my dear…will rep you for the rest of my life.
I was a very young kid and my 22 year old cousin got brain cancer. She absolutely loved this song which I had never heard before. She would listen to it all the time.
As her illness progressed, she became bed ridden, the song continued. She eventually became blind and the song continued. My aunt would lay in bed with her and hold her hand and gently move her hand to the music.
Eventually her illness took her hearing as well, she was 24. She was terrified as she could no longer hear or see. My aunt would lay with her and play the song while holding her hands and it would calm her down.
My cousin did not make it to 25. My aunt was obviously destroyed by this, as was my father (my aunt was his twin sister and they barely survived World War 2 together as very young children….they shared any piece of food or scrap of food they could find). My aunt kept on for 35 more years, as she also had a younger daughter to look after.
Fast for ward to covid, my aunt and uncle got it. My cousin called to get them taken to the hospital, my aunt refused to go. My uncle was taken as he was almost unresponsive, but my aunt was beyond firm in her refusal. My cousin stayed behind to look after her. At that point my aunt stopped talking and just put “Sailing” on repeat in her room.
My cousin came in to check on her in the morning, she had passed with a picture of my cousin and a smile on her face. Sailing was still playing.
A mothers love is immeasurable.
RIP to my cousin. RIP with your daughter to my aunt.
I have never turned this song off when it comes on. I always listen and cry….sometimes happy cry, sometimes sad cry. This song is now part of who I am as a person. It’s amazing how connected I still feel to both of them because of this song.
Kimm4, reps to you for life my dear.Last edited by EdwardTheGreat; 10-01-2023 at 09:45 AM.
