    Dumbbells for the chest

    Hi everyone

I’ve been getting more and more into the gym recently and found that when I use dumbbells I can feel it targeting my muscles a lot more than machines.

Can I ask if this sounds ok?
    1. Arnold flys - straight bench - 14kg per side
    2. Press - decline - lower push just under nipple - 14kg each dumbbell
    3. - incline - higher push just under collar bone 14kg each dumbbell

Hope this makes, any advice would be really helpful. I keep same weight so different chest parts grow at same rate…

Have you also tried those really long dumbbells with those things that look like plates on the end?

Your different chest parts don't know what db weights you use on each exercise.

I've never really felt DB flyes in my chest and they can be hard on shoulders. Some people swear by them, so ymmv. I recently started doing cable flyes and find them to be much better due to the resistance curve. they will definitely be staying in my program. My only point is DB movements aren't always the best option and to keep an open mind.

Using the same weight for all exercises makes it sound like you're half-assing it in the gym.

Dumbbells are tools that allows you to alternate your grip and do unilateral movements. The downside is the limitation on weight. Some people develop issues if all they use is a barbell. If you want to be 60 and lift your hands above your shoulders, be mindful of your joints, alternative tools, and how to use them.
