Should I buy a Lotus Elise?

I already own an S2000, but always wanted the Lotus. Would probably end up using it as my daily driver.

I know there's basically zero safety and not even real bumpers, but it's pretty AF.

My cousin had one of these, this is a pure driver's car. Unless you genuinely enjoy driving as a hobby, this car is probably not for you. It's basically a larger, street legal go-kart.

Its not a daily commuter, and its not really that comfortable of a ride (you're gonna feel every bump in the road), and its really going to feel cramped if you're taller than 6'0. The trade off is, the handling is tighter than a Miata. Its something you track, or take up to the mountains on the weekends to drive through twists and turns. If you're driving that thing as a daily commuter, you're gonna have a bad time.

I'm in San Diego and see a few from time to time. When you just see a photo online they look like a little toy, but in person, they're pretty bad ass. There's a matte black one in my area with red accented rims that looks phuckin' sick.

I'm 6'2" and absolutely did not fit in the car. And really didn't fit with a helmet on, it was ridiculous. Also the overall build quality is like a 70's soviet Lada, absolute rattle box interior.

It is fun, though. You can reel in Corvettes and Lambos on tighter tracks all day long.

Not that I know of. Miata is the most popular track car in the world. Just needs a roll cage.

I know some places don't like those single hoop cobra kit cars, but anything with a cage that can pass the broom stick test is usually fine.

Knew a kid who shoved like 700hp into his piece of chit early 90s Nissan and would do drifting classes n chit, race cop cars and buzz their station etc…
