That Thanksgiving one... Frozen turkeys every year. No spices. Bland vegetables.
17 years of bland was my motivation to learn to cook.Finance Degree - USAF INTEL - IIFYM - Injured Crew - KTM XCW300 - Single Track Trail Rider - NRA Supporter - Shunned from MFC - Libertarian - Pragmatist

Trying to get your ideal outcome often leads to the passing up of practical alternatives that deny your adversaries theirs.

Can confirm. White WOMEN in this day and age do NOT know how to cook, let alone proper seasoning. Men tend to be better cooks now.
I remember mayo sandwiches, and them thinking that's a thing. Literally, mayo between two slices of cold white bread. Yah...no thank you jeff.“Out of every one hundred men,
ten shouldn't even be there,
eighty are just targets,
nine are the real fighters, and we are lucky to have them, for they make the battle.
Ah, but the one, one is a warrior, and he will bring the others back.”

These are true facts.
I learned my lesson with spices and use them liberally now but took years to get to that point.
been working with my Mom to get her to spice stuff. I swear, she has a pepper shaker but the holes have been clogged since reagan was President so she just shakes it towards the food , nothing comes out and thats it.
I cook her food and she is amazed it tastes so good when its simply the same simple stuff she makes but with swasonings."To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. Nobody is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born an average man. We make ourselves into one or the other."-- Carlos Castaneda

I hear about this phenomenon, I don't know what it is. I season the fuk out of everything, use lots of garlic, use tons of butter, cilantro, use onions almost every day, buy large containers of pesto. I render bacon grease and keep it in the fridge for future use. My wife who is Mexican can't handle it when I make things spicy. I can't imagine plain rice. The most plain I can make rice is black pepper, onions, tomatoes and olive oil for my kids. I've also never bought bologna.
Maybe I'm wrong but I assume the "white people don't season food" applies to single guys and Boomers.Light weight! Light weight baby!!!!

Sweet potato casserole is the way to go. TONS of butter, cream, lots of brown sugar and pecans on top. Fuk the marshmallow schit on top, that's lazy. Tater tots - sure for the kids or if the freezer is practically empty and I don't feel like a trip to the grocery store. Toss some shredded cheese on top a couple minutes before it's done. Ketchup on the side for the kids, Frank's hot sauce for the adults.
I've unintentionally made my kids bougie with food. My 3rd grader has never eaten school lunch and has zero interest in it. He always gets either a turkey sandwich (with cheese, mayo and brown mustard, sometimes bacon added) or a meatball sandwich with melted cheese and sauce. Fresh fruit every day too. My boomer parents, especially my dad like plain stuff though - he grew up eating mashed potatoes 6 days a week. Poor bastard.Light weight! Light weight baby!!!!

is this really a white trope that exists? because I've never seen it in the wild, most whites I know go too ham on seasonings and treat hot sauces and **** like its a competition. I am from the south though, so maybe a northerner thing?

No cap bologna, mustard and American cheese on white wonderbread slaps.
Survival. When the jungle tears itself down and builds itself into something new. Guys like you and me, we end up dead. Doesn’t really mean anything. Or, if we happen to live through it, well that doesn’t mean anything either.
