Why didn't TNA become a competitor to WWE despite doing everything right?

They had everything going right for them....a popular X-Division, solid tag team division....Styles, Joe, Angle, Sting, Jarrett, Buh Buh Ray Dudley and Booker T in the main-event division and they even signed Hogan and Flair for supportive roles in their company...and imagine this lineup for a stable (Main-Event Mafia)....Kurt Angle, Scott Steiner, Sting, Booker T, Christian Cage, Kevin Nash, Samoa Joe and Traci Brooks...

They really did do a good job during the mid 2000s and an amazing job during the late 2000s. Good roster of big names, they had money to back them up. Watching old TNA shows is good, highly recommend watching if you never have. The only reason it didn't rival WWE was cause WWE was/is too big and established to be beaten and even though TNA did a good job from like 2005-2010, even then WWE was overall better than TNA during that time frame by quite a large margin despite a good try and solid effort to make a good product.

Because most people can only have so much time for wrestling weekly. 2 shows from WWE is already a lot for many, so only hardcore wrestling fans will watch both, and WWE have the good graces/loyalty/sentimental value from many fans.

Also, Orton is hotter than any of them.

Because their production value didn’t come close/they relied on studio shows, and many of the guys they used were on the back end of their careers? They were never going to be a competitor

This. I'm not sure what OP is talking about. TNA had some really memorable moments that are still worth re-watching on youtube, but they basically went the exact same route WCW did that eventually made them fail: Relied way too heavily on old relics who were never going to be able to carry them forever.

because most of the stuff they put out was not good. they openly recycled wcw storylines
nwo - the banned - aces and 8's
goldberg winning streak - crimson has a winning streak

it had alot of cool things but it also had alot of stale 'seen it before ' stuff also

Post attitude era Wwe is the mcdonalds of the pro wrestling industry.

Kind of bland, but kind of tasty, reliable, you know what you are getting, easily accessible and everyone knows the brand.

If you go to your local mall food court at lunch time the queue for mcdonalds will be out the ass, despite there being probably 5 or 6 places at least doing better food, with no queue.

Tna just never had the clout, they smelt B League.

The only way anyone would ever have any chance of beating WWE now is if they spent an absoloute fortune and got prime wwe stars to come over when their contracts expired.

And I'm not talking mid carders I'm talking like offering roman reigns the bag to run down his contract and jump ship.

Jeff Jarrett had too much ego and wrecked anything involving himself and the world title picture. He’s just not a believable star or dominant champ which is how he booked himself.

Sting, while a big star was getting paid too much. I heard a Dutch Mantell pod cast where he talked about it.

Hulk Hogan and Eric Bishoff are trash. They also got paid a lot, and had far too much to say in how things were run. The product started going down hill quick, fast and in a hurry after they got involved. Hogan bringing in his washed up boys to dominate talent in their prime was too much. Nasty Boys dominating Team 3D and the rest of the tag division as an example.
