Hi Everyone,
Occasionally my gym gets ridiculously busy and if I am doing a chest/back workout occasionally im in a position where I need to finish my chest exercises off by doing a extra repeat of bench instead of dips..
Is this going to be a issue in the long run? Does not mixing up major muscle exercises really matter?
Is 6 sets of Bench worse than 3 sets of Bench and 3 sets of Dips on occasion?

Unless you're training in someone else's private gym, you should just ask to work in
Asking to work in isn't a request, it's just polite
It's really saying, "I'm going to be working in with you now"
Why?
Because no one gym member owns the equipment, you're all paying for shared space and shared equipment► Intermediate Bodybuilding Classic Physique ► Renaissance Periodization Programming

Working in on dips, sure.
Not the same as working in on the rack, shifting 45s around, resetting safeties and bar height.
If squat or bench press is on the agenda for the day, take the rack when you walk in the door or first time it opens up.
As to OP, personally if something I wanna do is taken and working in isn't really simple, I just pick something else that day. Not a big deal.2022 -- Just maintaining and doing the van life

All depends on your routine. If I'm at a small gym, I accept that I need to have plan B's in place or have patience or the willingness to ask to work in. I have waited up to 30 minutes for a squat rack before with some very ridiculous teenage squatters waiting 5 minutes in between each of their sets... but it's the gym.

"225, 315, 405 whatever. Yeah these benchmark digits come to mean a lot to us, the few warriors in this arena. They are, however, just numbers. I'm guilty of that sh*t too, waiting for somebody to powder my nuts cuz I did 20 reps of whatever the **** on the bench. Big f*king deal. It is all relative." G Diesel
