"Russia ready for war with NATO"
Published 2023-10-01
In a post on Telegram, Dmitry Medvedev, who has been both president and prime minister, writes that Russia seems to have no other choice but a direct war with the NATO military alliance in Europe.
The now 58-year-old Medvedev was President of Russia from May 2008 to May 2012 and Prime Minister of Russia from May 2012 to January 2020. During his presidency, Vladimir Putin was Prime Minister.
On September 26, Medvedev wrote on his Telegram channel that "it seems that Russia is getting fewer and fewer options other than a direct conflict with NATO in the field."
He also claimed that the military alliance has "turned into an openly fascist bloc" and compared it to Hitler's Nazi Germany, "albeit on a larger scale".

Clearly both can be true. Ukraine has received around $100bn in military equipment and $100bn in financial aid. Obviously they are using the vast majority of it on the war otherwise they would not still be fighting, but you better believe Ukrainian elites have lined their pockets through various schemes with that money.

Former head of the British Ministry of Defense Ben Wallace said that the Ukrainian authorities should conscript more young people into the army in order to prevent the pace of the counter-offensive from slowing down.
“The average age of soldiers (AFU) at the front is over 40 years old. I understand Zelensky’s desire to preserve young people for the future, but the fact is that any pause will allow the Russian Federation to build a new army,” says Wallace’s article .
He also suggested that the time had come for Kyiv to reassess the scale of Ukrainian mobilization, “as Britain did in 1939 and 1941.”
As Vladislav Seleznev, a representative of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Forces, stated in August, the mobilization potential of Ukraine still allows for additional recruitment of men of military age into the army without making changes to the legislation.

Russian forces are conducting tactical counterattacks in the Robotyne area as part of their elastic defense against ongoing Ukrainian offensive operations in western Zaporizhia Oblast. The situation south of Robotyne is fluid as some tactically significant field fortifications have changed hands several times. Geolocated footage posted on September 30 shows Ukrainian forces striking Russian troops trying to enter a trench system about 1km southwest of Robotyne near the T0408 Robotyne—Tokmak road. Footage posted on September 13 shows that Ukrainian forces had previously occupied segments of this trench and thus appear to have lost it to Russian counterattacks between September 13 and 30. ISW has recoded this area from Ukraine's counteroffensive to Russian advances.

Must be extremely demoralizing for Ukraine to not be able to take Robotyne. I remember a quote from a Ukie soldier who said he couldn't believe how hard Russia was fighting to keep it. Imagine your big US/NATO backed counteroffensive being stuck on the first hurdle for 4 months and knowing winter is coming. They probably expected to drive the Russians out within a few days and build some momentum in the media.

I don't get why guys like DSTEE think this was a good thing... I think hes straight up retarded.
NATO can train Ukie soldiers safely in POland just a few hours or a days drive to the literal frontline. Why would they put them on the ground in Ukraine where they can get obliterated by russian missiles... makes no sense

From reliable sources it became known that in the period from October 5 to 15, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are planning the next stage of a ground offensive - the last option to gain a foothold before the onset of the autumn thaw. From the Pokrovsk region (former Krasnoarmeysk) and Dobropolye from the territory of training camps, personnel and equipment were partially transferred to Zaporozhye, and the main part - to the South Donetsk direction. In the first ten days of October, the main breakthrough is planned from Velikaya Novoselovka, Zolotaya Niva and Staromayorskoye through Krasnaya Polyana towards Volnovakha. Equipment is also being transferred from Dnepropetrovsk to the Zaporozhye direction. Abrams tanks were seen as part of the columns, and American M113 Bradley armored personnel carriers were transported in trucks with the inscription “Nova Poshta” (one truck can hold up to 2 armored personnel carriers).
Things are tense in Kyiv, the goals of the counteroffensive have not been achieved, no matter how the General Staff tries to justify itself to Bankova with its successes at Rabotino. Therefore, the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine received the task of occupying Tokmak, Bakhmut and Kremennaya no later than November, regardless of the losses of personnel, which were already pretty battered. To divert attention at the beginning of the offensive, the enemy can launch drone strikes on military targets (primarily airfields and ammunition depots) and civilian targets in Crimea, Donetsk, and intensify the deployment of DRGs onto our territory to carry out high-profile sabotage . Several such groups have already been prepared in the Kharkov region. In the general turmoil, the Armed Forces of Ukraine does not exclude the possibility of crossing the Dnieper in the Kherson region, and therefore the accumulation of light motor boats continues in areas where enemy forces are concentrated on the right bank. So the next two weeks could be hot.Official misc attaché to the Kremlin
