How much of his reddit account did you familiarize yourself with? I pretty much thought like you did above, sound reasoning and all, but the more you dive into it -- I changed my mind on it. It quickly became apparent how big an act it is he's putting on and one where he's constantly projecting his own insecurities outward.

At the risk or sounding like a broken record, I'd just lay off. We're dealing with someone who has major problems and has been dealing with them for a long time, probably since childhood. The details about his mother really broke my heart. The right thing to do is almost never the easy thing to do - and here it's easy to take someone like this down a peg or two, to engage him like we've all been doing. If he's back in the gym, doing some work, looking like he's dropped weight, well progress is progress. If he needs to put others down or inflate his accomplishments, at this point I see it's more about him than anyone he's engaging with. Trying to tear that down, which is understandable, but ultimately... why? Who cares. This is someone in pain, who may never understand life like us, the things I bet a lot of us take for granted: Wives, children, loved ones, a job or career, or even stable loving parents. Bodhy doesn't get that. For the most part, we do.

How can I understand what he's feeling? Yeah, making up goofy BS or projecting your own insecurities on others strikes us as lame -- but we're not broken like him.
