Hunter Biden reaches plea deal with feds to resolve tax issues, gun charge

Hunter Biden has reached a deal with federal prosecutors to resolve a five-year federal investigation into his failure to pay about $1 million in federal taxes and his purchase of a handgun in 2018.

Under an agreement detailed Tuesday in a filing in federal court in Delaware, President Joe Biden’s son will plead guilty to a pair of misdemeanor tax charges. Prosecutors have also charged him with possessing a firearm while being a user of illegal drugs — a felony — but have agreed to dismiss that charge if he completes a two-year period of probation.

Hunter Biden, 53, is unlikely to serve time in prison if he complies with release conditions. The deal calls for both sides to recommend that he be put on probation.

I’m personally glad he isn’t going to jail. IDK all the charges but I don’t believe in jailing people for taxes or the right to bare arms.

The problem is the average 50 year old on a guilty plea for a gun charge would land them a few years prison time, add to that tax evasion and they would be doing a 8 year fed bid (the guilty plea cuts off 20years).

And prison these days isn’t really prison for paying your debt. Prison shouldn’t be pleasant but it shouldn’t fuking be what it is. It isn’t a place where you imagine your punishment is sitting around doing your time living on bread and water. There are some who will never be rehabilitated for sure, but I’d say many will after a month of 24 hour lock down, not allowed to do anything will NEVER want to commit a crime again. Just ONE month.

I’m sure some things have changed dramatically in the last 10 years.

I know I’ve seen suburbs go to chit in the last 5 years.

As for paying taxes we are forced to none of us will ever get the treatment Hunter got for not paying.
