I take Dariush by TKO round 3. Dariush will match Oliveira on the ground into a stalemate. Dariush is a high IQ fighter with a heavy left hand and will eventually KO the fk out of Oliveira by round 3.
Time to join the Dariush hype train, he will be the one to beat that Dagestani phàggot.

going based off the Gamrot fight, I don't think Charles will be able to get him to the ground and submit him, also being high level at BJJ. Maybe we could even see Dariush take the grappling to Charles and see a repeat of what happened vs Islam
Dariush's striking got better and he does have power. I think I could agree with a KO or even a submission off of a knockdown.
Islam vs Dariush could be interesting as seemingly they would cancel each other out. but I think Islam would be the better and faster striker.positivity brah crew

I think Dariush can match Charles on the ground if not better here, also has better wrestling by a large margin. I feel like charles is more dangerous on the feet. Benny has some good power himself and nice striking but his chin def won't hold up to what Charles can dish out. I really have no idea how this fight will play out, but I lean Dariush based on better jj/wrestling. I could see him dropping Charles and finishing him from guard.

a main event nobody cares for, the co-main is good, the other fight i am even remotely interested in is imavov vs curtis

Wtf are you misogynists talking about? Do you not know that Amanda Nunes is the GOAT!??!!???
Dariush is super likeable and it feels like it's his time. The Gamrot fight really impressed me. I'd love to see him beat the inbred Islam.
But yea this card is horrendous. Ige vs Nate The Train will definitely be worth a watch though.

Going with Dariush
Side note has there ever been a worse card than 289? I’ve been watching ufc since the beginning, used to rent the dvds from blockbuster, and this is the worst one I’ve ever seen. I have only heard of 7 of the fighters. Why is the main event Amanda vs someone no one has ever heard of?no crew crew

Might check out some of the other male fights if I don't forget. The main being WMMA is actually a blessing in disguise to there's no skips in between, just turning it off before the main.
Hard to say. Charles is a great fighter and one of my favourites but he is kind of a glass cannon. I like Dariush too wouldn't care if he wins either. Hope it's gonna be a banger either way.

You are putting Gamrot's submission skills anywhere even close to Oliveira's? There is really no situation in which Dariush should engage Oliveira on the ground. If he drops Oliveira and doesn't get an immediate follow up finish he needs to quickly make Oliveira stand back up and continue striking. Don't think submitting Charles is easy because Islam did it. Even with Oliveira hurt Islam's skill to set up that submission and secure it so quickly was masterful. Dariush isn't going to do that.

Haha, yea it is pretty sad they wasted a number on this event. There are fights all the time between guys we've never heard of that have an equal chance of being exciting fights and don't cost $80.
You do make a good point at least with such a forgettable card they put the bathroom break at the end so we don't have to consider if the main event is even worth waiting out that 25 minutes to get to.

I feel like 10 years ago the fight nights were better than this card. I really hope PFL can do something to break the UFC hegemony because the product quality has declined a lot. Especially since the ESPN deal where they're basically just trying to pump out as many cards as possible because of the guaranteed money they get.
My theory and secret hope is that Stipe is holding out til the end of his UFC contract to fuk over uncle Dana and move other to the UFC. Will still be hard to compete with them but it'd be a really nice start. I just hope PFL has deep enough pockets to bleed money for a few years.
