I get what you're saying - I can't hate too hard, but at the same time, it doesn't feel like he's building towards anything; does not feel like a step of "progress" to him. Why dont you explore outside of the touristy areas? Your chances of getting laid are probs going to be better if you explore the local bars than staying with all the other British tourists.
