The only band I play with now is bluegrass based. Never thought i would be into bluegrass. The picking skills of some players are amazing. And the bluegrass scene is cool as fuk.

all these haters with the wood paneling/popcorn ceiling comments... It probably is some old man thats been jamming down there throughout the years, who knows maybe even retired at this point, and still smokes up some doobies and enjoys the sweet sound of music.

His collection is impressive, looks like hes updated his furniture and TV over the years, but the guts, carpet/ceiling/walls have stayed the same. Probably reminds him of listening to Led Zeppelin back in the day and chilling. Sometimes having a 'time capsule' room can be bad ass. Thats how I always felt visiting my grandparents before they passed.

But point being, as long as rest of house isn't like that, if its just his old finished basement and his 'chill zone' who gives a ****. Probably an incredible musician and that room has heard some great tones

I mean lol he has 9 custom-made ATC speakers. Even basic models cost tens of thousands each. Then there's a $50,000 analog recording console and god knows how much those synths are worth.

Mirin cost of gear in that pic. For the unawares I believe he has a Roland Fantom there (the red synth), which is around $4k. That big boy Korg can’t have been cheap. Hell, the boring looking black box pads and a screen might be an Akai Live which is a sampler that sits at around $1300.

I hope that room is properly insured because if he went that hard on synths and gear, the guitars, and mics can’t have been cheap either.

this is the roland kvx17 right? are they good? thinking of eventually gettign one but then i'm also thinking of why not get a high end set for like 3-4k that's like an acoustic but electric

nah mate trust me, don't do that last option. literally no point.

unless you're playing an electric kit live and want it to look like a real kit

otherwise. get an electric kit for recording, cause you can record direct and I use drum VSTs like Superior Drummer

but saying that, nothing beats a real drum kit. and i'd always use a real drum kit live

but in that case i'll just go with the kvx17 eventually

nah don't bother mate, the difference in feel between this KVX17 (around $2k) is gonna feel & sound exactly the same as one of these electric kits that's meant to look like an acoustic

yeah i know brah but one day you'll have a house with a garage or something, and I thoroughly recommend you get a real kit when you did and soundproof it. drums are fukking awesome, the most primal instrument. no need to plug anything in and they date wayyyy back.

if you think the first thing we hear is a rhyhym, mother's heartbeat. it's ingrained in us to do something with rhyhym. used it to rally troops for war back in the day. use it all round the world for rituals/ceremonies (not in the west cause we've lost touch with all that stuff). whenever I don't feel good, I play drums and everything is at peace

i currently have a chitty alesis nitro kit at home that i use, not optimal but works lol

house prices in switzerland are beyond insane but maybe one day

oh man yeah, pricey.

i have my kit at my parents house atm until I have a place with a garage, but they're cool with me having it there

The "stuff" is nice I'm sure, but it's a tad too cluttery for my tastes. I'd like it more if a lot of the bric-a-brac was stored in a closed cabinet so it can be out of sight should the situation arise
