Calf raises on the leg press good alternative to standing calf raise ?

My gym does not have a standing calf raise machine so would doing calf raises on the leg press machine be a good alternative ?

That's fine, just do them one leg at a time.

You can also do them on a stepper one-legged with a db, or in the smith machine.

My gym does not have them either. So I used to visit my neighbors cattle ranch to do calf raises. Now I do them at home with dog lifts instead.

I've done this, it's actually pretty good because you can superset your CRs with your LPs. Once you do a set of heavy leg press, pop a few plates off and sit back down and just put your toes onto the LP platform and press.

You can even do them seated on a step platform with a DB. You can do them standing with a bar on your back as if you were going to squat.

    Many alternatives here.
    Back off, Warchild.

    Seriously.

That's the wrong question. Your gym doesn't have the machine so your choice is the leg press or nothing.
