The Left to this day thinks he is a mass murder who killed millions with Covid and the DeSantis side is pretending that Trump was the lockdown king despite the fact that he only offered non-binding guidelines, who he himself began to eschew as early as mid April 2020. Fact is, early on no one new the severity of the virus and anyone would have done the same. He was quick to encourage people to reopen and he was viciously attacked for it.

As far as Fauci and Birx, these people were at the time considered to be reliable public health experts with decades in the government. We know now Fauci is a piece of chit but at the time it wasnt clear. In April 2020, 90% of the country trusted him and Trump would have been impeached by Congress is he tossed him out. Again, people rewriting the colossal goat fuk that was Spring 2020.

Go back and look at the attacks on Trump for trying to reopen the economy, they were absolutely devastating and over the top. They were basically accusing them of committing mass murder. It was crazy times and it was certainly impossible to make all the right decisions, although he fairly quickly came around to getting things back open.

I remember ALL of Covid vividly because the lockdowns killed my wife's business, forced us to relocate, and ultimately killed two family members to boot.

Republicans governors were still split and some were resisting lockdowns and the other crap. Then Trump came out on Fauci's recommendation and shut down the country. Of course all the GOP governors fell in line behind their own guy in the White House.

A couple of months later when it was becoming painfully clear how stupid the initial lockdown was, guys like Kemp and DeSantis started to buck Trump and Fauci. And Trump started to slam them in the media for it.

So yeah, everyone is guilty of falling in line behind Trump because republicans didn't assume he was as naive as he was.

If it wasn't for Trump in office, half the country never would have shut down to begin with.

Covid wasn't nor is as bad as the flu..we knew this in 2020, 2021, and currently...we can go through the numbers starting in 2020 to present if you like.

From what I remember Trump's handling of the COVID situation was not that good. He was promoting lockdowns. He was having Fauci attend his daily COVID updates.

On a positive for Trump I thought his taking the drug HCQ and antibiotics or zinc to fight COVID was good to see. Trump was unmercilessly attacked for that by most in the press. The press often lied about HCQ. The press tried to make people afraid of safe HCQ Trump was taking. Trump stuck with the drug though, taking it himself for awhile, suggesting it could help others.

I didn't care all that much for HCQ since it was complicated by needing to take two substances to make it work, along with the presses corrupt campaign against its use. I was glad when Ivermectin was introduced later on and promoted by some as a helpful treatment for COVID.

Sometimes you're chit schedule gets out of whack and you're just too far away without time to get to a McDonald's. If you do residential service work most homeowner's hate letting strangers use their bathroom, delivery drivers don't even have the option to ask. So, 5 gallon bucket, a bag and you're good. Remember, most people don't have the luxury of strapping on a chit holster, so they have to improvise.
