FACT CHECK: Trump is still leading by 30-40 points in all major polls. He’s the overwhelming lead in all early primary states. DeSantis is statistically tied with Nikki Haley now in SC (21% vs. 19%) and Trump outperforms him in the RCP average of matchups against Biden as well.
The reality is that Trump remains in his strongest position yet to win the Republican nomination.
