Uhh his "Club Shay Shay" has like 1.2 million subscribers, and is getting millions of views on the regular now from YouTube

It happened VERY fast and honestly it's showing that he doesn't need Skip any longer and will be a very trendy FA here soon. Might make that transition away from sports ala Strahan to a degree.

Honestly he was by far the highlight of the show for a couple years now. Skip tried to do the same lil podcast thing and it's not getting close to the same traction.

It's also become very apparent that the reason why they don't get guests like on First Take is probably due to Skip. Besides Lil Wayne, and Snoop, people don't like him

Broussard has his own show with Nick Wright and Kevin Wildes which is starting to become the best "sports show" on TV. They need to keep that core together. They are hilarious and work super well together

I think Broussard is the lead to get the spot right now and I'm not sure that's a good idea because he's great on 'Odd Couple' with Rob Parker, and has a role on 'First Things First' so you'd kill those two shows by moving him. You want the Shannon type again - an outspoken former athlete with a big personality that current players respect. Ray Lewis, Keyshawn Johnson, Kevin Garnett, Ryan Clark come to mind.

Shannon was vastly outshining him. His #'s and podcast basically speak to that. Skip doesn't command respect anymore, he isn't able to bring the celebrity/athlete guests anymore.. he talks about the same 4-5 topics and they are all starting to go away (LeBron, Brady, Cowboys, Rodgers.. inky one is gonna stay and that's Cowboys)

He needs someone that helps to create the funny viral moments, cause he can't do it anymore. SAS did it cause he's great, Shannon did it cause he's great.. those type of people aren't found anywhere else. You gotta find a character who's loud, funny, whitty, and can take the BS that comes with Skip

but a few years ago if someone suggested shannon sharpe we'd probably be as skeptical of that pick as we are of ryan clark, lesean mccoy etc. i think Skip made Shannon good at this. Shannon has a huge personality but he obviously learned the format and got daily reps with an all-time veteran who knows how to take sports topics and chew on them for hours.

I agree with this to an extent.. I remember they did a lil test run with Shannon and Skip during First Take when Stephen A took a vacation and it was instantly great. Shannon was magic right away and he was pretty decent when he was on that CBS NFL show before getting let go.

I just feel like we already have seen a lot of the candidates already in their shows and they arent great TV.. why would they be with Skip? I hope you're right tho, but I worry they're just gonna try and find a LeBron fan and be Shannon 2.0 but just worse

i think the hot take / debate format is really (REALLY) over-saturated but if we're talking strictly Skip Bayless, he has a couple years left in him. He has a built in audience. He's the perfect heel, the easiest guy to hate in the business. There's a reason Fox paid him $32 million to stay in 2021.

Even without Brady and Lebron there's always something to get worked up about in sports. The Cowboys are a constant for Skip (and, like him, people love to hate them), Ja Morant and his guns/gangster life, Zion's ladies, the PGA with Saudi Arabia. All that's just in the last week!

i disagree. i think people will always want to debate about sports. whether it's one host, two, three, or four, people will want to talk about who's better, who's worse, who should be mvp, who's gonna win the championship, what the number 1 pick is gonna do for their team next year, etc.
