Now you see the consequences of having a poor education system. Also, cruises are completely pointless.

It's that sinking feeling when you find yourself in a situation without a safety net.
This was something Jonathan Haidt wrote about where kids now are mollycoddled by parents and can't take controlled risks in childhood when the consequences aren't so high. This guy gets a little bit of freedom, does something stupid and pays the ultimate price."Human teleportation, molecular decimation, breakdown, reformation, is inherently purging. It makes a man a king" - Seth Brundle

I mean really, cruises shouldn't be a thing. They are a total waste of resources. All I see is a rich idiot dying because he was doing a rich idiot thing and then out idioted the other idiots. His rich idiot parents didn't care to educate him on the laws of physics. It's a tragedy, but this all could have been completely avoided if we just didn't bother with cruises. The energy and resources used in the cruise industry could be used toward far more productive and important things.
The ocean is the territory for military action, scientific research, and trade. It should not be seen as a leisure zone.
If you want to experience traveling in a boat, lock yourself in your house for a month and put ocean sounds on. Maybe spin around a bit for some nausea.

Yeah, I saw this firsthand last year with kids this same age and in the same economic group. I had to deal with their parents in an unfortunate situation where an apartment wasn't finished by the time they moved in, and these parents treated the situation as if I were going to kill their children. Everything worked out in the end, but they made things a ton more stressful for me simply because they didn't want their kids to endure any type of stress whatsoever.
They're alright guys, but I can't imagine what till happen in life once things don't go as expected and one of them has to improvise.

thought the same. no one is asking why the hell were kids 1) drinking 2) on a boat 3) in the ocean 4) at night?
crazy that a shark was caught on camera though. if there was one shark there were probably plenty. esp at night when they feed.
maybe he lucked out and drowned before he got eaten but he got eaten.
misctards as usual saying there was no shark.
shark on the left....kid looking directly at the shark on the left. He defo saw it too. Maybe he didn't know it was a shark but he knew it wasn't good so he swam away from the ship.

I used to work in an oil rig kitchen of the north coast of Western Australia.
At 9am and 3pm sharp every day I used to chuck a full, huge bucket of meat scraps 100ft over the side at the same spot. And every day at those exact times a huge pack of sharks would be waiting down there like Pavlov's dogs.
As soon as the meat hit the water it would be a massive bubbling, broiling mess. Ten minutes later they were gone, until the next feeding hour...
These sharks don't fuk around, they are smart as hell.
Btw, you can see the shark again at 13 seconds at the base of the footage.HTC

regardless of how retarded that was, that's a horrible way to die, either by floating about in the middle of the night and eventually dying, getting eaten by sharks or drowning.

Kid probably thought he would be famous on tiktok. Now he only gets to be famous in Sharktok where a bunch of sharkcels are laughing at a silly human jumping into the ocean at night
"The flowers bloom, then wither... The stars shine and one day become extinct. This earth, the sun, the galaxies and even the big universe, someday will be destroyed. Compared with that, the human life is only a blink, just a little time. In that short time - people are born, laugh, cry, fight, are injured, feel joy, sadness, hate someone, love someone. All in just a moment. And then, are embraced by the eternal sleep called death."

And yeah, shark definitely got him. You can pause it between second 9 and 10 frame by frame and you will clearly see the same dark grey silhouette latching onto his leg. The kid died in less than a minute for sure.
Jesuschrist what a terrible way to go. Nightmare escenario."The flowers bloom, then wither... The stars shine and one day become extinct. I'm lucky I got through my childhood/teens in one piece.
RIP. Really dumb move but **** it sucks he paid the ultimate price. I feel bad for his parents. Imagine the last image of your boy is him in the ocean, never to be seen again. The closer we approach the uncertainty of life's ending the more we wish to trade all of the things we have acquired in exchange for all of the things we have lost: wealth for youth, knowledge for fresh curiosity, resignation for hope. We'd trade our wisdom for new experiences, but it is wisdom that will teach us that at the end of the road the only new experience is death.
