That big ass ocean compared to a person going overboard from a cruise ship is like trying to find a rock in the ocean.
Its damn near impossible, unless said person has something to signal his/her whereabouts like a flair, bright light, dye, beaconing device, etc.
I was in the USN, was on aircraft carriers, and if someone went over, it would be difficult to retrieve them, unless they had the above mentioned devices. An aircraft carrier is 250 feet tall and over 1000 feet long, while cruise ships have a height above the waterline of around 72 metres (236ft 11in) and 1000 feet long respectively.
But in bootcamp they taught us how to float using our clothes in case we ever went overboard. But floating wont keep you from being eaten alive by sharks.
**edit
Watched video, it didn't look like that big of a ship but camera angle could be deceiving.

Hopefully he got sucked into the prop and went quickly. Rip
Friday night. Date night in Miami. Every night is a date night in Miami, and everyone's having sex. But for me, sex never enters into it. I don't understand sex. Not that I have anything against women, and I certainly have an appropriate sensibility about men, but when it comes to the actual act of sex, it's always just seemed so undignified. But I have to play the game.

Its not like they had a crew standing by. This retard jumped in off of a moving boat. His friends threw a float. He wasn't able to swim to the float due to the current. And most certainly wasn't able to swim fast enough to keep up to the boat.
Most likely scenario is this kid drowned before the captain of the boat even turned it around to look for him. He was trying to swim towards the boat. They were pulling away. He'd have likely tired out and drowned trying to keep up.
Its actually really easy to stay afloat in the ocean. Much easier then a pool or lake.
The problem is trying to swim against a current when there are waves that most likely washed over his head. Dude got tired, sucked in some water, panicked, and drowned.

Negative ghost rider, I scuba dive and actually go out away from the coast and I can promise you without having a bcd inflated it's a bitch to keep your head above water.
Location: Florida..... not mirin your lack of ocean knowledge.

"Early on Friday morning, Justin Osborne, who identified himself as one of Robbins’ baseball coaches, posted on Facebook that the news of Robbins’ absence was “absolutely heartbreaking.”
“This kid is one of best kids I’ve ever had the privilege to coach. His heart was huge, always smiling, always finding best in others,” he added."
Just once i want to see a case where someone says "Yeah he was a real douche and nobody liked him.""Even through the darkest days, this fire burns, always."

Lold 700 hours of boating under neath me.
"but I can dive" Well bitch, seems like you can't float. Best stick to the bay sonny.
EDIT: to clarify, it aint a swell if its rolling. It wouldn't swamp your head. Once period gets passed 10 you can barely feel that ****. JFL! Try driving a boat instead of riding in one sucka. Dood prolly still thinks trim is the pussy hes trying to land.

“The waters off Athol Island, where 18-year-old Cameron Robbins was last seen swimming after jumping off the Blackbeard's Revenge sunset cruise on May 24, are “really shark-infested,” Royal Bahamas Defense Force (RBDF) Commodore Raymond King told the Daily Mail on Tuesday”
He could have floated/swam toward island but sharks seen him jump and that was a wrap.

Full Retard, the movie.
"So live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart. Trouble no one about their religion; respect others in their view, and demand that they respect yours. Love your life, perfect your life, beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and its purpose in the service of your people. . . . Always give a word or a sign of salute when meeting or passing a friend, even a stranger, when in a lonely place." -Tecumseh
