And? It was a good movie. I'm not cheering for a corporation, guy. If it were up to me, all these big firms would be broken up and copyrights, trademarks, and patents would be severely restricted in scope and duration.
Also, Dave, I made a fortune today off Nvidia stock. Seethe. Back to work, wagie.Last edited by Banderistan; 05-24-2023 at 07:53 PM.

Well, I guess I stand corrected, based on pre-purchased tickets its tracking at an estimated $120million opening weekend (on a $250million budget). Memorial day and name-recognition certainly helps with that.
off topic, but where the hell is season 2 for Severance? They better not have cancelled it. That was a wild cliffhanger.

Alright, these are the ones with an exclusive theatrical release:
Eternals: $402.1 million
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings: $432.2 million
Ant-Man and the Wasp: $476 million
Thor: Love and Thunder: $760.9 million
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever: $859.2 million
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness: $955.8 million
Spider-Man: Far From Home: $1.132 billion
Spider-Man: No Way Home: $1.922 billion
Not sure if you're seeing any patterns there that I'm not, but they seem to be doing pretty well.

So weird how the moron crew who so desperately hates everyone not like themselves (well like their pretend selves anyway) that they want to blame a movie failing soly on it being woke. Like movies haven't haven't failed for years without being woke, just for being bad movies.
And weird how they're so up in arms about non-whites playing leads now but they were happy as can be when it was whites only playing every single lead for decade after decade.
I guess Babylon was woke? Morbius? Moonfall?
Holy phuk these racist morons are dumb as a box of rocks...SADEarly AM workout crew.

It's going to be a typical Disney release:
Great critic reviews
Terrible audience reviews
Very low actual sales
Disney will DMCA bad reviews on YouTube like they did for Captain Marvel
Disney will pour money into buying tickets to make it look like a success
They've done this chit for the past 7 years or so.
Anyone wonder how it could be that they've had "huge" box office success over the past 10 years, but their stock is lower today than it was in 2015 and half of what it was 2 years ago?
TL;DR It's going to bomb, but the media and Disney will make it look like a success.Misc Entrepreneur Crew

i agree about everything except her face.
something about it i just don't find attractive at all.
i even thought she was ugly when i saw the first advert for it.
don't care they made her black either.
don't care if it does well or not either.
the only thing i think about is people are black due to melanin in their skin due to living hot regions with lots of sun.
so how did dark skinned mer-people happen?
or does nobody care?
they made the submariner south American and explained how the Atlanteans were all darker skinned in the wakanda movie and i was ok with it.

I would say it underperformed, not an outright bomb or flop. We all probably have different ideas of success/failure, breaking even is generally considered a failure. Movie execs don't invest money to do nothing with it, money can sit in a saving account and get at least something.
They need to recoop the cost to make the film and the marketing costs, then judge like any other investment. Movies are big gambles, usually, you can make a lot of money out of nowhere or eat a big dick and end up ruined.
We don't know the exacts, my guess after marketing costs and production, it was 350-400 million. Worldwide I checked and it took in 430mil -- so I probably need to walk back my thinking it only underperformed, that's a huge miss right there. Clearly it lost money, unless it made a lot back w/ blurays or something, that 430 million box office is split with theaters, so they only saw a percentage of that.
Was it good or bad? I don't know. Didn't see it. I have doubts *any* marvel movie was/is great. My favorite was Winter Soldier. Civil War was good and I liked the first half of the Infinity War. Otherwise, a lot of bullchit, explosions, bad jokes and me not caring. Other than the last Spider-Man, I really enjoyed that. All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

the mario movie hate was because of Chris Pratt and nothing more.
i didn't read any reviews but i did watch a few youtube clips of people reading the reviews and ripping the reviewers and their moron speak to shreds.
those fockers were triggered AF over the mario movie.
they hate Chris Pratt because he isn't a woke leftist actor.
