Trying to understand resistance band loops

One thing I've never been sure about with resistance loops is the state resistance. I get that there is a range of resistance to each loop, ie 50 to 125lb on the strongest loop I have, but I'm not sure how that plays out.

For example, if I'm doing a pull apart with the 50 to 125Lb loop, and I'm only holding one section of the loop and fully extend it, does that mean I'm pulling the full 125lb at that point? Or do I need to double it over and have two lengths held side by side to get that effect?
