Exclamation Intermittent Fasting and Morning Workout Question

Hello guys, I'm in the overweight category with 120 KG weight, 35% Body Fat at 182CM. My goal is to maintain muscle and lose fat.

I've used to do IF a couple of years back with great result, normally following the 16:8 diet. But the problem is now I workout early morning around 9:00 am to 10:00 am. This is the only time I get to workout.

My workout regime is Push/Pull/Legs/Push/Pull/Legs with moderate to heavy lifting 6 days a week, sunday off. I only drink black coffee without sugar before my workout.

Now here's the issue, many trainers suggested that I have a Pre-workout snack before working out as it will help me prevent muscle loss.

But I don't want to break my fast before 9:00 am or 10:00 am and I need to eat atleast 1 hour before my workout, isn't that right? So is there anything that I can eat that won't break my fast and fuel my body before my workout sufficiently to prevent muscle loss?

Nonsense... Lots of people do OMAD and train early. Don't overthink it. As long as you're feeling okay, keep it up. If you notice it's not working, then maybe look to do this.

I'm guilty of that sh*t too, waiting for somebody to powder my nuts cuz I did 20 reps of whatever the **** on the bench. Big f*king deal. It is all relative." G Diesel

Yep - plenty of people work out fasted. I do it most of the time. In the morning I am not hungry and usually glycogen is full from the dinner the night before. Some people prefer to work out fed too. It's just preference. There is still some old school thinking when it comes to nutrition like you HAVE to be fed working out, or you need to get 6-8 meals per day, and that IF will cause immediate muscle loss etc. I say do what works for you. The notion you have to lift fed is false though. Probably a bit more true if you are doing heavy cardio however.
