Disney recently admitted what every shareholder and reasonable observer has long known: Its activist strategy has negatively impacted its financial situation.

In its SEC filing, the company revealed, "We face risks relating to misalignment with public and consumer tastes and preferences for entertainment, travel and consumer products.... Further, consumers' perceptions of our position on matters of public interest, including our efforts to achieve certain of our environmental and social goals, often differ widely and present risks to our reputation and brands."

Translation: We goofed when we went full-woke, including skewing Florida's commonsense law to prevent teachers from discussing sexual or gender orientation with kindergartners as "Don't Say Gay" and implementing what one executive called a "not-at-all-secret gay agenda" into programming.

Disney's stock price is down more than 50% since early 2021, while the overall market is up about 10% since then. Its recent woke movies have bombed, reportedly losing a combined$1 billion. As George Washington University Professor Jonathan Turley put it, The "invisible hand is giving the House of Mouse the middle finger."

Disney's demise is just one of many recent victories against woke capitalism.

Female athletes took exception to a nonprofit leader's statement made during congressional testimony about Title IX last week after many said she appeared to suggest that women and girls competing in sports should "learn to lose gracefully" to transgender athletes competing alongside them.

"Trans students participate in sports for the same reasons as [other] kids," Fatima Goss Graves, president and CEO of the women's rights nonprofit National Women’s Law Center, said.

"Because it is fun, because it creates belonging, community, because it teaches so much about persistence, leadership and discipline, and last, they learn to lose gracefully – hopefully – and often, win with dignity," she continued.

Government employees are being forced to embrace the trans agenda as part of their jobs

If your boss required you to publicly announce that 2 + 2 = 5 and act like you sincerely believed it, would you comply or be fired? Unfortunately, tens of thousands federal employees are being put to a similar test by the Biden administration. But instead of being required to deny basic math, they are being forced to deny basic biology under radical "gender identity" policies.

On International Transgender Day of Visibility, the U.S. Office of Personnel Management ordered federal agencies to prohibit the intentional use of "incorrect" pronouns in the workplace because it could contribute to an "unlawful hostile work environment." First to comply were the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the Department of State, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (USCBP), all of which have recently issued workplace pronoun mandates.

Not surprisingly, the administration’s LGBT advocate-in-chief, Assistant Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine, announced the policy for HHS. Although Levine is a biological male (and for decades went by Richard), HHS employees are prohibited from using anything other than "she" when speaking of Levine and all other trans-identifying biological males at HHS.

A school board member in Virginia took his oath of office with his hand not on a Bible, but on a stack of books containing graphic depictions of gay sex.

Karl Frisch, who will become chairman of the Fairfax County School Board, swapped the Bible for books including “Lawn Boy,” “Gender Queer,” and “Flamer.” His male partner held the books as he placed his left hand on them and his right hand in the air.

“He was sworn in on a stack of the five LGBTQ-themed books most frequently banned by other school systems,” Frisch’s campaign said on his website.

In September 2021, nearly all Fairfax school board members except Frisch fled the dais as a mother read passages from the books. “What if I told you I touched another guy’s d***? What if I told you I sucked it? I was ten years old, but it’s true. I sucked Doug Goble’s d***, the real estate guy, and he sucked mine too,” read one passage from “Lawn Boy.”

A board member then tried to cut her mic, saying “there are children in the audience.” (Attendees told The Daily Wire they did not see any children at the late-night board meeting.)

The mother replied, “These books are in stock and available in the libraries.”

“Gender Queer” is a comic book featuring illustrations of a lesbian receiving oral sex on a strap-on dildo. FCPS kept it in libraries after saying it was a “a well-written, scientifically based narrative of one person’s journey with gender identity.” The book’s author, Maia Kobabe, said she does not recommend it for children.

A Daily Wire review of the autobiographical comic found that it shows a nonbinary teenager and young adult who says her “sexual fantasies involved two male partners” and whose sister tells her to “taste yourself,” leading her to put what she calls “vagina slime” on her finger. In her journey of self-discovery, Maia visits the headquarters of a porn company that produced films called “Public Disgrace,” “Bound in Public,” and “Hardcore Gangbangs.”

In the book, Maia is deeply disturbed and perennially unhappy, and ejects femininity in part because “I’m way too selfish for parenting.”

Frisch does not have any children, so his interest in schools is unclear, except as an avenue for LGBT activism and to advocate on the behalf of staff as opposed to the people staff serve. His partner is a choral director for the school system.

Frisch is a Democrat campaign consultant from California and has few roots in Virginia. He won his first term on the school board in 2019 after raising massive amounts of money by fundraising from out-of-state donors based on LGBTQ issues.

He has also styled himself as a victim because he is an atheist. He once gave an hour-long interview to the American Humanist Association, a group for agnostics. The video claimed that Fairfax County, a diverse and liberal D.C. suburb, was “targeted by religious extremists.”

“The religious nuts come out of the woodwork,” he said. “Fairfax has a history of being an epicenter for right-wing religious fanaticism.” Every member of the Fairfax County School Board is a Democrat.

A previous school board chair, Rachna Sizemore Heizer, took the oath of office on a copy of radical anti-American historian Howard Zinn’s book “A People’s History of the United States.”
