My first vehicle/the one I originally learned to drive in was manual (and one with a very small margin of error before it stalled), and so I know how to drive it.
Anyone who actually cares about shyt like this, and bases their choice of what car to buy based on it, is a clown. The things people find to try to turn into a "flex" is beyond silly.

You realize how much $ is in the country? I have family/friends with so much land they could sell and move to the city and MOG your dumbass 100x over. But they prefer the peace and quiet and not being surrounded by retards like you.

An everyday car or truck I’d go auto, but a classic I’d prefer standard . All my TransAms were auto unfortunately, but my 84 GMC and my 81 Z28 were 4 speed standards .
I found having a standard in my Camaro made for a far better driving experience, and missed that car dearly .
I love the look of the 78 TA , and before I sold it I was debating to toss the Pontiac 400 engine and 350 turbo auto , and put in a 454 LS6 with aluminum heads and intake, and a 6 speed TKO standard .
This has a 350 SB with a T-10 Rock crusher , and was a riot to drive
The 84 had a 4 speed standard but with the granny gear . Much more fun than an automatic any day . The only exception would be stuck in traffic for a long time ,as it’s hard on the clutch.

I am sure you are much dumber than we all thought. Which seems hard to do.
corporations love "cheap" large plots of land close to interstates. Some have sold and corporations like 3M have moved in, and they now employ a large % of the community there.
Farmers looking to extend their property... families looking to liquidate theirs after a death etc.
lots of reasons. Again you're just too stupid to think about it for a minute.
cockbreath strikes out.

All of my cars are manuals - 2004 mustang cobra (daily driver), 2014 mustang gt500, 2002 corvette z06, 2010 corvette zr1, 2002 viper, 2008 viper, 2017 viper, 2008 murcielago lp640, 1995 ferrari f50, 2005 carrera gt, porsche 917, porsche 962, rcr super-lite, 65 shelby cobra, ferrari p4
Drove a 2020 GT500 and couldn't bring myself to buy it - sure the DCT is amazing technology, but after 5 minutes driving I was bored because I didn't feel engaged anymore with it.
Drove a C8 and couldn't bring myself to buy it for the same reason.
Want an SVJ Aventador, but again, going 'click click click' with the flappy padels is boring as **** after a few minutes. I want to hear and feel the gated shifter.
Currently looking at a Diablo roadster - yes it's 25yrs old and the SVJ mogs it in almost every category, but there's just something so satisfying about rowing your own gears.
Either you get it or you don't.¯\_(ツ)_/¯Booo

If you know how to drive a clutch can last for decades.
My 2004 cobra is decently modified - ported/pullied/intake/exhaust/tune/etc. It's got almost 300k miles on it and I'm still using the original clutch that came with the car.
I've currently got 15 cars and I've never had to change a clutch from wear.
I've installed new clutch/flywheels to handle supporting mods (like when I put a built engine in my viper)
And I changed the clutch on my 65 cobra when I thought it was binding up (but turned out of be a defective throwout bearing retainer on the transmission)
But never from wear.
Of course clutches are wear items, but if you know how to drive, don't abuse the piss out of it, and it's a good quality clutch it should last a very long time.Last edited by amusclehead; 03-26-2023 at 11:24 AM.

I have always lived in a major US city.
My first two cars were manual.
Now that we have smartphones, it is stupid to get a manual.
I want to be able to access spotify, texts, maps and restaurant reviews safely and quickly - manual doesn't allow that.

Spoken like someone who may think he can push a car hard but in fact cannot.
Pushing a car to its limits requires two hands on the wheel at all times except when changing gears.
Back when I was a track day instructor I had inexperienced people telling me they could drive just as fast with one hand on the wheel rather than two. They couldn't. Two hands on the wheel allows for smoother steering inputs.747 Driver
