    Morning training w/out food

    Hi everyone.

I like to skip breakfast. I tend to become tired after eating and I also tend to get a bit stressed while working and it just feels better to get that out of the way in the morning without having food in the stomach. I also do my workouts in this time period as breaks and it’s the best thing I’ve found to clear stress. (I’m not overdoing it with work, my nervous system just tends to get easily overexcited).

So I’d like to keep these two habits, but that doesn’t gel so well with building muscle.

In short I would like to
    a) Do workouts from 6-11.30 am
    b) Not eat until noon

And I’d like to do this without :
    c) Creating a catabolic state

As far as I can tell that leaves me with two options
    1. Take 7-15 g EAA upon waking.
Pros: I could remain very close to a fasted state.
Cons: I’m worried that without carbs in a fasted state, those EAAs would just be converted into glucose. Also, it allegedly tastes like crap.

    2. 30 g whey with small amount of carbs.
Pros: Probably better in terms of net muscle gain.
Cons: Most likely won’t feel like fasted state.

Could I pick you guys brain about this? Are there any fallacies in my thinking? Would you go about it another way, if it were you?

What is your height and weight? As 'picky' as you appear to be about eating, I'm guessing you'll have difficulty getting enough protein regardless.

I don't think there is anything wrong with your plan. I also don't eat anything before a workout and it works great for me. Occasionally, if I need a little extra energy, I will eat some salt pre-workout, but that's the most I'll consume. I think your plan is great.
